Hospital administrator. He's also an MD. Now works with me at The labor dept. top pay here is probably 110k, starts at 60k during training.

Not sure what hospital he used to work at, but it appears he took nowhere near a $300k paycut...total comp is generally below $200k

A slightly higher range for the New York City area

The base pay of insurance executives, hospital executives and even hospital administrators often far outstrips doctors’ salaries, according to an analysis performed for The New York Times by Compdata Surveys: $584,000 on average for an insurance chief executive officer, $386,000 for a hospital C.E.O. and $237,000 for a hospital administrator, compared with $306,000 for a surgeon and $185,000 for a general doctor.

Already in DFW. I would be willing to move for a 20% bump to certain areas of country with a reasonable COL. If I were to relocate, Charlotte or Nashville would be top of my preferred list.

Hospital administrator is such a broad term. If he was in the c-suite, he most likely did make 400k+.

Hell I would take a paycut to move to some places. Assuming I could live outside the city.

Chattanooga, Denver, Missoula to name a few.

For me I would take a damn salary cut to leave CA. Hate this place and just want to go back home.

Where do you live and what do you do?

I’m kinda sick of BR and wouldn’t mind a move to the west coast

I’m a natural gas trader and my company made all of these big promises to get me to move. Needless to say it was bullshite so now I want to move back to Houston. My resume is on blast.

I turned down a job in California (Bay Area) because the weren’t willing to offer 60% more than what I made in Louisiana. Ain’t no way I was doing it for less than that. Not because I hate California but because of the cost of living. I would have taken it in an instant if the offered me the money.

I want an extra $20,000 a year but I'd settle for double my current pay.

I’ll take a salary cut to move to a smaller city and better quality of life.

I don't think I'd move to a much more expensive real estate market at this stage in life. My wife and I are in our 40s and I wouldn't want to try to tackle some huge mortgage for 15 years at this point.

Is your career tied to the area?

Just went through this myself. Took a relocation package and about a 15% bump, but we are moving to Nashville in a few months. Not sure I’ll stay forever but signed a three year contract. I have a few years left and wanted to try some place else for a few years. Staying at current job, but opening a location down there. I’ve been in Nola for the last 9 years and BR 9 before that. Ready to experience something different, although it’s tough leaving family and friends.
