How much money, not including investment & retirement, do you keep in your bank accounts?

For me, it's between 50-200k. Not bragging either.

I don't keep a separate account for savings

I just keep a short term savings cushion in my checking account

Anything above that goes into brokerage account

It's not bragging because it's dumb. Why would you let a large amount of money sit in a savings account earning nothing?

It's worse than nothing, it devalues with time.

Sounds stupid. Inflation is actually decreasing the value of that money.

You should look at other options.

Ideally, about 6 times our monthly bills in savings, and a few thousand in the checking.

Why the shite would you want to have that much money just sitting in a savings account?
