Musk is running X on 80% fewer people than when he bought it. He also reduced the office space they were renting and is operating on fewer servers. There is a story of him and his brother shutting a server down on Christmas Eve by physically doing the work themselves.

He has cut overhead significantly so it doesn't need to earn as much as it used to. The MSM wants him to fail, though, so they don't report how much overhead he has reduced.

I love X.

I loved Twitter before he bought it and he has only made it better.

The community notes feature is wonderful and when I see something that is interesting - I bookmark it and look back at it in a week and it has notes on it to correct the info.

I never seen pornography or even girls in swimwear as it is not what I engage in.

The fact that anyone (in the media) attacks X shows the true success of it. If it was a random app with no engagement - no one would talk about it.

Did the article mention any revenue from subscriptions?

He still has some work to do on the algorithm. I keep getting leftists pushed on me a lot.

I suspect, while Elon has made steps to improve the profitability of Twitter, the work of GARM is stifling it.

They may have dropped a lot fo revenue but they also dropped an ungodly amount of people cost. Cutting about 6,000 people worth of costs with minimal impact to the platform probably made them at least close to break even.

Are we all missing that his long term vision isn’t just 140 characters but a one stop super app for all things life and the availability of twitter was just a fast track to building that out?

I think he holds onto it long term and eventually pivots it into a Meta type, "everything" kind of company. I think it will have some kind of integration with Starlink, will eventually launch telecommunications, and will become even more of a de-facto town square. With Tesla Autopilot and full self-driving AI innovation, I think that too will be woven in as well as continued AI development in general.

Thing is, he's a free speech absolutist who if we didn't have right now, we'd be completely in the dark. The legacy media has an agenda and is so slanted it really cannot be trusted. His people have done pretty good on fact-checking any bullshite (even when it's right wing).

Do you remember how much hell you'd get on Facebook and old Twitter for sharing the Ivermectin thing? We'd literally be under the same mandates if he hadn't taken it over.

I think if he's ever removed from the equation, either by his own choice or otherwise, we will take a massive step back as far as being a free people. The world desperately needs and must do everything to protect Elon Musk.
