One of the many reasons I married my wife, well you can probably roll it into one, she's low maintenance.

I don't even remember what I spent, probably less than $2k. She picked it out, there was never any money limit given or anything, that was just the one she picked out.

About $1000 on my wife . 1/2 carat. I didn't give a shite what the clarity was and neither did she. I bought an an antique platinum 3/4 carat with 40 small diamonds, good clarity 20 years ago for $5000. Ex fiance and I split 6 months later. I will never spend close to that on jewelry again. The pawn shop next door to the jewelry store offered me $50 for it. I walked into the jewelry store and told them it was worth nothing.

I learned my lesson. Jewelry is a complete waste of money.

Just under half carat. $1250. My entire savings at the time.

Yeah, that was a long time ago. She was worth way more but thank God she said yes.

This is one of those fun threads where all the people that call posters "poor" if they drive a car less than $100,000 come out and call anyone who spends more than $1,000 on an engagement ring idiots.

I don't think that's the order it's supposed to be in.
