You do realize that you don't get the ring back if even if you do get a divorce right? It's a conditional gift, the condition is getting married. Once that condition is met, you're fricked

I'm not talking about just the ring. I was mainly talking about the woman i acquire in the deal being a depreciating asset lol

Sure it is.
Marriage can happen at any time, like kids.

Sure thing Grandpa.
Im sure you also miss the ol day of the jitterbug.
All joking aside though.

Why do people get so hung up on that ?
What would be the difference?

With an ot baller statement like that....it means you bought it since she obviously doesn't work. You just made her pick it out.

While not very tactful, it is true.

My wife found the ring at an antique sale. Brought the card of the people selling it home and I called them to buy it. Looking back on it now it was nuts. $700. Ring has an engraving on it from 1929. Guy sent me the ring and allowed me to pay $50 a month until paid off. Sent my last check back because I was always on time with my payments. Not sure of the carat size however. I’m lucky AF because my wife has unintentionally very high taste in things.

A lot. 1.5 carat. I’d have to look at GIA, but it was very high quality. I forget the exact specs.

You’re right. My parents have been lying about their wedding anniversary for over 30 years now.

Maybe they have.

They seem like they may not be decent people if they raised a son that calls others trashy with gross bastard children

I think it was around $1200.. I think. And that was a little more than I wanted to. I just don't understand what people try to prove when they spend a lot on wedding rings.

How many of you can look at someone's ring and say "that one cost at least _________"? And even if you could, what does the price of a wedding ring have to do with anything? I would advice anyone who thinks they have to spend a few thousand on a wedding ring, to spend 1/3 of that money on a wedding ring and take the rest and put it in a Roth CD or something.

$100.

Resized my mothers ring my father designed for her. Marriage ended in death not divorce and wife loved ring so we didn't change anything on it.
