re: TV mounted under gazebo

Klump, I have a recommendation for you. Pull up that piece of shite you cheaply put down, get someone to come pour a 12x16 slab, and be done with it.

We all know “this guy” is you. No worthy contractor would put together that piece of shite. And no, you can’t do the job. You clearly have no clue what you’re doing. Why don’t you leave the construction projects to us men and go play golf or something.

Not necessarily anecdotal evidence, but opinions from engineers or anyone who knows more about the subject than I do.
Cinder blocks vs. poured concrete pilings
Posted by Mr Wonderful on 3/2/22 at 9:02 am
Looking at building a house approximately 10-12 feet up. Definitely going with concrete foundation (no wood pilings).
Looking for info on the strength of cinder blocks filled with rebar and concrete vs. concrete poured in forms. Most builders are telling me the concrete blocks are just and strong and cost significantly less. Is this accurate? I’m willing to spend the additional money if the poured concrete pilings are in fact stronger.

Just put two 18 pounders in the WSM. Spatchcocked. Not eating until mid-afternoon so I’m fine if it takes some time. First year smoking two.

You also can’t go to Florida and catch 100lb+ yellowfin, swordfish, snapper, grouper and more on the same trip there.
Absolutely true. But the mahi and billfish are much better out of the Keys. Just depends on what you’re looking for. Tuna = Venice. Billfish = Keys
re: Neighbor put ground blind and feeder on the property line--he has 10 acres bordering 150

With all of the readily available information out there, it is truly amazing that people still do not know how to hunt on a property line.
For those that do not: set up on the line with the stand facing into your property. Close back window so that you cannot shoot into neighbor’s property. Yes, this means you could theoretically have two stands back to back both facing inward. It’s by far the safest way to hunt a property line.
Common, but incorrect, mistake: place stand 50-100 yards off the line, but facing the line. That’s dangerous as shite.

Not for hunters. For those that consider throwing out 50 lbs of corn at a time hunting, they can be a pain in the arse.

We don’t. Concealed carry permits are unconstitutional, like many other statutes.

I’m hearing about 3 feet or so on Cheniere. Not sure about the island itself.

Anyone have an update on the island? I’m hearing they had some really bad winds and flooding this afternoon.
Shipping alcohol into Louisiana

I was recently notified by an online retailer that I regularly order booze from that they are no longer allowed to ship to Louisiana due to new laws/regs. Anyone familiar with this?

So besides coons, you will likely poison squirrels, deer, hogs, rabbits, birds, bobcats, coyotes, fox, armadillo, basically anything that drinks from it.
If you could just remove deer and rabbits from this list, frick the rest of those animals.

Once the animal dies, other animals of prey will feed on the carcass and you end up killing hawks, vultures, owls
Frick all of those too.

These do work, but nothing will permanently eliminate those bastards. It’ll always be an ongoing battle.

Cracked marble prior to install
Posted by Mr Wonderful on 8/21/20 at 5:09 pm
Wife and I replacing some countertops in the kitchen. Going with a Brazilian marble. One of the slabs at the fabricator (color we really like) is cracked clean through the slab. Fabricator is offering a steep discount in price and telling me that once they epoxy the crack, it’ll look like new.
