I just don't understand what people try to prove when they spend a lot on wedding rings.

How else am I supposed to flaunt my dominance over plebs, than to spend exorbitant amounts of money on frivolous things?

But it's cool to attack someone's children.

Kinda a weird move to try to attack someone’s parents online.
At least they are grown adults

You know me. I see insults about children or anything of the nature over the line. Other shite I let fly

I didn’t attack anyone’s parents. That person I was talking to/about was in the thread. He could defend himself.

Can't remember how much or what carat-- it was a few thousand, 28 years ago. After we were married, she basically just wore the wedding band anyway.

What I do remember is her just keeping it ON TOP of a CLOSED jewelry box in our closet, and it turned up missing. Could have been stolen by a maid, or a worker on the house; could have fallen off and gotten sucked up by the vacuum cleaner; I don't know.

All I DO know is it was her own damn fault for keeping it there and I wasn't about to buy her another one.

Trashy parents of bastard kids are still parents bro.

I agree with you that hey are trashy, fwiw. I also have no problem making fun of parents or children on the internet.

I highly doubt that TH03 has the gall nor gumption to say that to your face.

My wife picked out a platinum estate ring at a local dealer. That's another way to say it was a dead women's ring.

I payed $2500 or $3,000 in 2007 and don't remember the carets but it seems pretty big compared to others women's I see.

She is still happy about it so I still count my blessings she picked out a used ring and saved us some dough. She is pretty thrifty when its comes to money.

What did I say about the kids? Bastard means out of wedlock child. Actual correct terms are not attacks.

You seem to not know what called out and defensive mean.

Can't remember but not much. Got engaged around 30 years ago. Maybe a half carat diamond round in a simple setting - maybe it was around $1000-1200 (really can't recall)? Still took me forever to pay for - didn't have any money back then. I think I got a really good ROI though...still married and she's still wearing it and refuses to get another bigger or better ring even though I've offered.

Didn't spend a dime on the engagement ring (other than to get it refitted) as it's one that's been passed down the family. I don't remember what we spent on the wedding ring, maybe 5k or so

I know this is the time you go all pride on the topic, but you know damn well the majority of kids born out of wedlock are not oopsie babies to parents who get married.

The guy in this thread is the exception to the rule most likely, but the vast majority are trashy.
