I didnt go but I am glad the state is trying to do something. Unfortunately, being louisiana, we have to pay a premium. High profile events and movie credits can do this state a lot of good if we take a hard look at it

Homeowners don’t like getting raped on property tax though..

I just received a $700 check from my mortgage company because some of my property taxes had been lowered and I had an overage in my escrow.

Also, my kids were all able to go to brand new public schools because of the tax setup here. No private tuition needed here.

They need to do it on a weekend that is not on Hogs for the Cause. Two semi-big events in Nola on the same weekend drew away from both events

There did a lot of advertising on Facebook. Saw it on my feed everyday.
Believe it or not rodeo is big in Southwest La. Check out La High School Rodeo Association.
LSU used to have big rodeo. It was associated with state livestock show. It was great way for kids to see farm life.

So you saved $58 a month?

Well, that's a tank of gas...

As much as I hate property tax and it going up a little for us most years I can stomach writing that check every year compared to what homeowners insurance is doing to us.

, never heard of the dude or any of his music and what I heard on the way down confirmed what I thought. Bubblegum country.

So you didnt actually hear any of his music.

He is as real as it gets these days as a true cowboy/country artist. The guy is from Texas, rodeo'd most of his life, still ropes when hes not touring. Guy started in local Texas bars with a $5 cover charge and worked his way up to where he is. Unlike most of the music scene today where record labels find "artists" by looks and social media pull and then auto tune the frick out of their voices to make what they call music.

Sorry Merle, George Jones et all arent coming back, Cody Johnson is the closest you will get to them again

Didn’t the promoters know you can’t have a rodeo without Beyoncé? She invented country music.

100% this. I would have picked hogs over a rodeo if I were in town

They really did a piss poor job with marketing.

Seemed like they relied heavy on Facebook ads with occasional radio ads. I agree they should have been heavily marketing it all over the South.

I also agree a date change is needed. Too much competition in spring. Prob need to move to June,

Or if we ever get rid of Essence, which is looking likely, do it July 4th weekend.

Cody Johnson is real country music? Bro don’t make me laugh. Had you said Waylon, Merle or shite even maybe Strait I’d agree with you. Cody is just another Florida Georgia Line goofy pop country artist. Not saying that’s bad as I know OD is not real country, but cmon.
Cody Johnson is literally a rancher and former rodeo participant that became a country singer

He is more country tha. Every single person you listed above

For example Merle haggard is a California born freaking anti-war convict that learned how to make money in country music

Here's a novel idea: quit spending money like a drunken sailor and you can cut property AND state income taxes.

I feel like the rodeo wasn't advertised enough.
I didn't hear of it at all until it was already going on.
Hogs had way more mentions. And the Banana ball a few weeks ago was way more hyped up.

This is such a misconception for anyone with a decent salary. You make 50k a year, sure prop tax is rough, 100k plus, no state income tax is much better.

Wanna guess what the median household income in LA was in 24?

You can’t ask this

Most of the folks in the region that are big into rodeo want nothing to do with Nola.
