We had it made back then. I remember putting together a Road Gear system in my 88 buick park avenue elektra and taking it to a crank it up competition. That was back when you could some bullshite like everyone close the doors all at once to get some more db's

Had to go cheap on the first deck from Wal-Marks. Jensen with hand me down underpowered Cerwin Vega subs from a tiny Sony amp. From there on out, Alpine everything.

The dolphins were cool though. Didnt it have F1 race cars too?

I didn't like the Pioneer head units back then because everyone had them, I was all Eclipse with JL subs.
That dolphin head unit is quite nostalgic though, I'm seeing it pop up all over the place.

I had the Pioneer with the dolphins...matter of fact I just pulled it out of the truck a few weeks ago. Got tired of it not being able to use Bluetooth. I put the dolphin receiver in a box and shelfed it (Pioneer DEH-7600MP)...took a video before I un installed it but it wont let me upload an mp4

I ran a Clarion deck, RF Punch 250 driving 2 JL Audio 12s in a sealed box behind the seat in a single cab late 90's S-10. Felt it in your chest! At one time I had 12 other speakers in that tiny truck. Good times!

Early 90's if the speaker specs gave a min box volume or larger range. The "or larger" is the one you wanted.

I loved those days, but I'm glad it's not priority anymore, just having the stock Bose system is enough. No worries about blown amps anymore...
