I'm old.

I was very small when the tv announced the ceasefire in Korea. I didn't understand it, but I remember the adults' reactions.
Watching Queen Elizabeth's coronation of a snowy black and white TV that a neighbor had bought for the occasion. And how we waited and waited until the film arrived by airplane in New York City.
JFK assassination. Jack Ruby shot.
RFK assassination (I was up very early studying for an exam.)
First men landing on the moon, and days later watching them from the sidewalk in Chicago by the Wrigley Building as they had their parade through Chicago.
Berlin Wall came down, and I tried to call a friend who lived next to it and hadn't seen her family close up since it was made.

You remember where you were when Covid happened? Where was that if I might ask?

I know the point you think you're making. I don't think it's working.

When they declared a pandemic and everything shut down. March 11th. I was in a car driving to Louisiana from Idaho

I remember working a volunteer shift at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo when we got the word we were shutting down. Everybody had some idea that something like that was coming, so it wasn't a total shock. We all said we'd see each other in a couple weeks, LOL.

Did people ask, where were you when you heard about Pearl Harbor?
--
I had a friend who died two years ago. He was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. Even though it was 80 years ago, he said he could close his eyes and see it as if it was yesterday.

Where you were at 12:00 AM 1/1/00? We were a little worried the crazies may be right and the world shuts down. Woke up and the coffee pot worked, figured we had made it

One that doesn’t get much attention is the Munich Massacre, 1972 Olympics. Seems especially historic in relation to the current Israeli-Palestinian war. Seems there’s no peaceful solution and has worldwide impact. It goes on and on…

Elvis death is the first I can remember, I was very young but remember the chatter in the house. I knew something big had happened.

i just said the NBA season. perhaps you are making a point about the NBA not being considered a major sport in your opinion. good for you.

the NCAA tournament was canceled as well. it sucked. trendon Watford never got to play in the tournament.

Where were you when the greatest team in college football history won the NC in the Superdome?
I was just on the couch at my place, but it was a pretty memorable night! That 2011 Bama team was certainly outstanding, but I'm not sure they were the best ever. That's a very high bar.

In all seriousness, I remember where I was when the Berlin Wall was opened and the morning of 9/11. The official dissolution of the USSR would probably be another one but it happened on Christmas, so I'd assume that most people were at home.
