Magic pills are all the rage among those not disciplined enough to do it right. People dont care about side effects, if they can lose 25 pounds and it requires no lifestyle change.
I'm not advocating for a magic pill or laziness. I'm asking what side effects he's talking about that wouldn’t already be known after 20 years of human studies on this drug.

My wife does. She went from 150 to 120. Probably 4 months. They are gonna reduce dose to a maintain dose level.

She didn't make me or anything lol she just mentioned an honest insecurity. Me and her both have low metabolism, hers is even worse. When she had the twins she had to eat and all her weight came back and I was walking around perfectly fit while she was getting real big. She didn't like me at 180 anyways, to be fair, a healthy weight for a guy with my height and mass is 220. Past that, and muscle starts to go. Glad it came back at least. I need to lose about 60 rn and I can do that in about 3 months.

mRNA vaccines have been around that long too

And we've known about their cancer causing and immunosuppressant effects almost that long.
They've been studied that long, in animals. Not used worldwide in humans.

MIL got all pissy this Thanksgiving because my wife didn't comment on the weight she lost. She talked about all the healthy food choices she was making and sacrifices. Turns out she's on Ozempic
Uhhh, do we have the same MIL?
My wife's mother is a known and well established attention whore, especially at family gatherings. She pulled this exact same thing at Thanksgiving, tried to wear a sundress when it was like 40 degrees outside and was obviously fishing for compliments. Even made a bunch of comments about how she's working so hard to lose weight, had owned this dress for years but it was always too small until now, blah blah blah just looking for someone to say something.
Unfortunately we all know this woman well at this point, so no one took the bait and she got extremely upset and pouty. Sent my wife and her sister a bunch of whiny, woe is me texts later that night about how no one was paying attention to her and she just felt so disrespected and no one loves her. She accused my mom (who is nothing but a saint and the nicest lady you'd ever encounter, for real) of trying to compete with her for everyone's favorite and take over her daughter, etc.
A month later she let it slip that she has been on ozempic to lose weight and that's why she had been in the hospital for several days the previous week. Side note: she was also upset that my wife only spent 2 hours with her at the hospital and didn't stay to take care of her for longer. We have a 2 year old and I'm the single income in our family

At the same time she admitted all this, she also said she's still taking it because she likes the compliments shes getting

I'm not talking about me specifically, but people in general. I've learned over the years "there's no free lunch". Slow and steady wins the day. I have family, however, who are always trying to find shortcuts. They think I'm pessimistic, etc when I say there's no free lunch. Health is a lifestyle. Usually, it takes a wake up call to get most people motivated. Fear is a powerful motivator. However, continously living in fear isn't good. I think if people could do any kind of exercise enough to feel good and see some kind of benefit is key. They may have relapses sometimes, but they'll remember how much better they felt and start back again to whatever it was they were doing.

Lots of friends’ wives are currently taking Ozempic. Some that aren’t even overweight are taking it now.
When asked what the plan is for getting off of the drug, they admit they may just stay on it for life…. That’s the plan

I know a handful of people. Only one has lost the weight and kept it off since getting off of it. The rest are like yo-yos. Lost a big chunk of weight, doc won’t continue the prescription, so they gain it all back then some, and then they’re back to being qualified for their doc to rewrite the prescription. Turns out, you actually need to make some healthy changes to keep it off. WHo KnEW?!!

have a niece who is very pretty, 38, and was about 15 pounds heavier than she wanted to be. She, and all her friends take it, and they are too skinny now.
Are doctors prescribing to people that just need to lose 15-20lbs?

I can’t understand how people are 100% against the covid vax but can turn around and get an Ozempic shot. I don’t care about your stance on the vaccine, just the fact that one’s ok and the other is bad bad.
Both have no long term data, yet one’s injected with no qualms.

Doctors will prescribe anything, just have to find the right one

You can get it (or some variation of it) at med spas.

I don’t know how my niece got it, but her brother and her SIL are doctors. Plus, her best friend’s husband is a doctor, so she’s covered.

Well that’s just patently wrong. One has 40+ years of data and one was made in 6 months.
