Baw, you don’t get it. Everyone on the OT isn’t overweight, the BMI is just skewed because they are athletic. (They played football in high school 40 years ago.)

I’m the OT rarity. Big guy. Lift weights. Will admit I need to lose 20 pounds of fat (or build way more muscle).

I know two people on it. Their doctor(Ocshner) got them set up with Empower Pharmacy. $250 for 10 shots. It's not covered under insurance but that's pretty damned cheap. One of the two takes the shot every other week now. So those 10 shots will last about 4 months.

People paying $1000/mo just need to look around at other options.

yep that's why mine is just taking minimum amount of dosage to keep her diabetes in check without insulin or metformin.

She's drastically dropped her insulin and metformin dosage since statrting. Lost minimal weight, but the blood sugars are great. And it's cheaper than her insulin so it works out money wise as well.

My wife is weird in that she developed diabetes after having her first Lupus/autoimmune disorder flare. Before that she would have perfect a1Cs. She had an allergic reaction one day, and boom she had Lupus and then a few months later developed diabetes.

This medication will be a lifesaver at cost.

This is like saying don’t blame opioids for people being addicted. It’s a stupid argument

Nope. I used to be a fatty (5'9"250), and my wife had started getting up there as well (5'0" 160), and once I got serious about losing the weight, she suddenly found the motivation to do so as well. Once I dropped under her weight, the pounds just started dropping off of her. She's been back to the size she was when we met (5'0" 110) ever since. Funny how that works.

All that shite about loving 'dad bods' is just shite they say, because it allows them to let themselves go as well. Get yourself in shape and start attracting a little bit of opposite sex attraction (or let her even think that's a possibility) and all that crap goes out the window. She'll be making smoothies after she gets home from the gym and asking for a Fitbit for Christmas before you know it.

Same. It is only intended for type II diabetes And nowadays these drugs get rush approvals, which means that the FDA doesn’t even review but 10% of the supporting documentation. Doctors need to do better.

Well I guess we are wrong here.

Ozempic is a great drug and everyone should use it instead of eating properly and exercising. The side effects aren’t bad and its long term side effects are as known as the Covid 19 vax, so that’s a plus.

The use of the drug certainly points out the folks who are on the lazier side of the spectrum.

I know many who are using it that are using it for good reason. I also know of a ton of people who are able bodied who are just taking it to take it.

Its fascinating to see this drug with no history come out after all the vaccination hoopla and people almost have zero concern for their long term health because they can change their current appearance

Ozempic burps When your digestion slows down with Ozempic, sulfur can build up in your gut and cause your burps to smell and taste like rotten eggs. You might hear them called Ozempic burps or sulfur burps. If you get a case of Ozempic burps, you can try to cut back on sulfur-rich foods. But you can’t cut them out completely. A lot of foods contain sulfur, and it’s a nutrient you need.

Seems a bit trashy to know so many people on the drug. Are you sure you're not exaggerating?

Same. Mine was a Div 1 track athlete, then taught PE her entire life.

She's 64 now. Fit and attractive. Hasn't had any work done, either.

I am very lucky.
