our primary concern as well
when I bought my place the March after Katrina it looked like a bomb had went off. How any of the dozens of downed trees didn’t take out the house is a miracle

Sounds like you are as prepared as one can be for a hurricane. I pray everyone comes through safely, good luck.

we’ve decided to leave Hammond.
the risk from the trees is just too great

it sounds ridiculous but we are going to Baton Rouge. My parents house is empty (they are out of town) but there’s no trees to fall and the house is sturdy. We will stay until the wind hazard passes and then I’ll leave the wife and dogs and go see the outcome

y’all stay safe

Was on Monroe.....
Water made it to Monroe. A few low spots went past Monroe. I didn't stay, but trees were the big issue other than close to the lake.

Have 2 small kids and lots of trees around the house. Also probably dont have enough generator gas. Left really early. 12 and 10 through MS were busy but not backed up. Bet it is bad about now.

Latest track update and reduction in intensity confirming our plans to stay in Madisonville. Have a home generator which is the only reason we are staying. I expect power to be out a few days

My missus (no pics you filthy animals) is heading to Houston, but the Leg and the dogs are staying. My neighbor has some big trees (a huge water oak and a full grown red maple) that certainly concern me. Still, I have a generator, a fan, and plenty of grub. It’s time to ride.

We’re in Folsom and feel pretty safe, aside from maybe losing power for a little while (which means we lose water too). In-laws are in a trailer in Picayune - trying to decide if they’re better off here or there. They’re 40 miles further from the storm, but are in a trailer.

Pine trees are a killer. Had the top of a pine literally an inch away from going through our front door with Katrina. Think we took down over 20 pines in our yard. But the neighbors still have several on the property line.
Good luck to all.
