My wife can cook, but I can cook much better, and I love to cook, so I don’t want her doing much in the kitchen.

Sometimes you hit the lottery.

Friend of mine is married to a doctor and he is the house-husband, raising the kids.

I’d prefer to be in control of my own earning, but marrying someone as hot as her with that kind of earnings was an accomplishment for someone who kept having to drop out of college like him.

I am a better cook than my wife. However, she can cook decent and does about 50% of the family cooking.
So do I get 50% of the derision you are trying to hand out to men who can cook?

I’m sure she resents him for it

I’d be scared in a situation like that. Hopefully the courts will treat him like a woman if it ever goes south

Every adult that has a nose, a hand, and an eye can cook. Some people choose not to cook because someone else will do it for them or they can afford to eat out.

my wife can cook and makes a killer meatball stew.

she also does the laundry, sweep/mop, household chores, pulls weeds, cleans the kitchen, cleans the bathrooms, washes dishes, windex the windows/mirrors, etc ...

I am the better cook, and choose to cook b/c I don't want to eat meatball stew 7 nights a week

easy trade off for me as I HATE pulling weeds.

edit: my wife loves to bake desserts and can make fudge, cakes, pies, cookies

Most of the men in my family are the cooks. My wife can cook but she isn't really good at it. It works for us because I like to cook and good at it. I don't wash clothes, run the dishwasher etc.

checking in.

All of the wife's white side of the family can't cook.

Native side can cook, but she took after the white side and didn't learn how to cook.

but since she's stay at home now, she's gotta cook two times a week. Them was the rules we set. She's actually gotten pretty good at a few things

She tricked me by exposing me to her Mom's excellent cooking often, and I made too many assumptions.

my wife is a perfectly adequate cook. she just doesn't enjoy it and i do.

my kids are excited for her nights out not because we're going to do pizzas, but because i'm going to do some real gourmet shite.

she cooked exclusively for the first 15 years of marriage and did wonderfully at it, but she went to work when the kids were in JH and I work from home. she still cooks half the meals, but i have more time and enjoy it.

I didn't marry her for cooking skills. She also make more money than me.

With that being said, my wife can cook. But I get home at 3:15, she typically get off of work about 4 or 4:30 so I start supper.

She's a better cook than I am but I'm not bad at it. Who cooks is probably split about 60/40 me. Most of the time nowadays we do Hello Fresh so who cooks doesn't really matter.

My wife thinks she can cook... but fish sticks don't count. I married her because she's awesome and I wasn't looking for a cook.

She was a latchkey kid to city slickers. I grew up on a farm with a mom that cooked from scratch, and a grandmother that was the same way.

I don't mind cooking. I have made sure the kids know how to cook, they can pretty much make anything now. My oldest son loves to grill, and at first I was like...that's my job, but it's pretty amazing to just assign him to burger night.

Wife makes about 4x what I make. She can cook, but I cook about 90% of the time as well as do the laundry, dishes, etc.

My wife is Yugoslavian. She cooks very well and has even learned to cook Cajun food. A mixed dinner of Yugoslavian and Cajun is better than it sounds. It is nice to come home from work to a dinner that is already ready and waiting.
