And why not if you don’t?
Credit too bad and you can’t get one?
You don’t trust yourself and your spending?
You are afraid the government and deep state will steal your information?

If you’re not taking advantage of credit card bonus offers you’re just turning down free money.
I get why people like Dave Ramsey advocate against it for those with horrible spending patterns and zero self control or direction but sign on bonuses, rewards while paying off the balance monthly is an easy concept to grasp with a little practice and it returns at a greater rate in the market.

I don’t have one. Use a line of credit instead which creates an extra layer of protection for me and I don’t have to worry about variable apr based on the Fed’s bullshite.

I haven’t had a personal credit card in at least 20 years. As for why, because I don’t need one

What method of payment do you use at cashless venues? If you use a debit card, that’s much less secure than credit cards. Nobody NEEDS one but the offer much more protection than debit cards.

This. We use our Costco card for a ton of things and pay the week off every Sunday.
Last year we had over 2000$ back

Exactly, we have two airline ones, a Delta Amex that gives us free baggage and a Spirit Mastercard (don't laugh) that gives us mileage. Flew my family of 3 roundtrip to New Orleans last year with the points.

My debit card is visa branded and can be run as credit..what additional protections would I get using a plain credit card?

None of your own actual money is in limbo if your credit card is compromised & used. If it’s your debit, you have to wait for your bank to hopefully side with you and return the money to your account.

Debit cards are tied directly to your bank. If your personal and banking information is exposed it’s very possible your account would be fraudulently debited. Banks are better about refunding it during once you question the charges but with a credit card no funds are taken from your account due to fraudulent activity.

Nobody needs credit cards. It is a debt trap & majority of people are not financially responsible

For the most security, ditch the debit card altogether and just go with an ATM credit and credit cards.

I try to use cash for small purchases. Easier to track my credit card usage without $3 coffee charges. Tipping in cash is also better for small businesses and workers.

I get that part. Why would I need to be any more hopeful that my bank return it than I would the credit card company removing the charge? Are you implying my bank would be less likely to do so? If so, why?
What little money I keep in checking being “in limbo” wouldn’t really be an issue for me or impact me at all.

Because while it’s in dispute with a bank, your money is gone until they give it back.
When credit card charges are in dispute, you still have your money.

I don't use them for everything like some do, but you are correct for many people. Something like 65-70% of active credit card accounts carry a balance month-to-month, so a majority of Americans are paying 20% interest on their purchases.

I keep cash on me and a debit card but rarely ever use either
It’s credit cards all the way. I have self control and don’t spend and buy shite just because I have the credit
I’m responsible and pay my balance off each month . Got around $600 cash back total sitting on both my main cards for a rainy day . That’s money I wouldn’t have had I bought it in cash for stuff I was gonna buy anyway
No brainer if you actually have self control to not go crazy and spend spend spend to keep up with the jones.
