I didn't even have a debit card for years, only a credit card. Just pay the balance every month. Protects against fraud and I get tons of free points for money. But I'm also responsible and don't over spend.
That’s how you do it. The banking industry lies to millions of young people each year telling them they just have to pay the minimum payments and “you should keep a balance”. No the hell you shouldn’t. That’s how a $100 purchase snowballs to $200 then $300 then $500 and on upwards. The less balance you hold on your credit limits whether it’s with credit cards or locs, the better it looks on your credit report.

Mine is locked in for under 10% and is unsecured. Had it for years though.
I’ve never had any of my variable unsecured buisness lines get to 10%.
8.8% is the highest I have gotten
You may want to sometimes utilize a variable line if you can

We use one card for the rewards and pay it off religiously. It usually pays for a vacation every year

I use 3 credit cards for eveything. Pay them off every month. The bonuses are different on each which is why I use all 3 ( example, 5% on Amazon purchases, 2% on gas, 3% on car insurance etc ). Im retired so all money is direct deposit and I have to go to the atm to get cash.
Plus I don’t like dealing with coins - they end up in a jar on my desk and most are never spent. Or many people just leave the coins as part of the tip. Sometimes Workers make errors counting change.
On that note, more and more businesses are adding 3% to 4% to your bill for using your credit card.

Tipping in cash is also better for small businesses and workers.
Despise this argument. Not my responsibility to help them avoid taxes.

The business is being charged 3%+ to process your payment. Why should they eat that?
I don’t understand this argument. There are all kinds of expenses a business will incur. They factor that into goods sold. And dealing with cash is more labor intensive than swiping a card.
Charging me a penalty tax for using a credit card doesn’t excuse them from paying the 3% usage fee - they are still paying it but now on the higher amount!
And you probably just lost me as a customer. I usually take it out of the tip amount and note that on the bill.
In the end Im still getting my 2% rewards, I don’t have to deal with bills and coins and the business is still paying 3% to the bank.
