Not just Mexican. Vietnamese, Indian, Thai, Chinese, etc.

I’d say Nola is way better on seafood and obviously creole although Houston has some ok Cajun style places. Nola is better Italian too imo.

I lived in Houston 12 years and ate at chains less than 12 times probably (outside of fast food).

Property taxes in Texas are beyond ridiculous. And it doesn't matter which City you live in...the traffic absolutely sucks. Too many people looking for paradise. Go to Nashville or Charlotte, don't come here. We don't need you.

I’m sure there will be objective and fair discussion in this thread

Born and raised in Nola. Currently living in Houston.

There’s no place like home, but you can easily make 20-30% more per year in Houston than Nola. Is what it is.

Ton of Mexicans here. The traffic is terrible. The Cajun/creole restaurants aren’t great. And the crawfish fricking sucks here. But other than that, it’s not a bad place to live.

New Orleans isn’t known for their seafood restaurants. We only have a few to brag about.

That tells me all I need to know about what you know about the New Orleans food scene

Higher cost of living?!? Houston is cheap in the areas most people actually choose to live.

New Orleans isn’t in the same league.

I’ve been in H-Town for 8 years and it gets old quick...money is great but being surrounded by Aggies and people that dip their crawfish tails in butter makes me want to move back to BR and sit in traffic. Seriously

There are tens of thousands of coonasses in Houston/Katy/woodlands/cypress/sugar land. There is not much reason for the food (especially crawfish, which is run by a coonass at nearly every boil I go to) to be complained about by people from LA.

I can get great food here from all over the world, but not the state 2 hours away?

Don’t know much about Houston, but considering New Orleans is a cesspool fricking shite hole, I’ll take Houston by default.

I’ve lived in Nola for 60 years. It’s better than ever. It’s a small big city. You can get anywhere really fast. The good stuff is pretty consolidated unlike the ridiculous sprawl of Houston and L.A. etc.... I’ve always made good money in Nola and the tradition and culture is world renown. Ive been to Houston. 40 times and you couldn’t give me a million dollars to live there

If I’m rich, I sure as frick wouldn’t live in New Orleans. Even in the best neighborhood uptown you’re a few blocks from the worst of the worst.

And say you live in Audubon place or whatever that guarded place is by Tulane, you still have to deal with idiots when you go shopping, etc. place is just too full of morons and criminals.

I’m a Nola defender against the rednecks and baws, but Houston has a ton ranked better than Nola in a lot of categories

Don’t have good restaurants in Houston? I’m sorry. Dining here is like eating around the world, something New Orleans May offer, but nowhere near the scale Houston has to offer.

One of my favorite chain restaurants in Houston is Maharaja Bhog, locations in Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Abu Dhabi, and Houston fricking Texas.

Indian, Thai, Korean, Chinatown (bigger than French quarter), Vietnamese, African (not culcha), on and on.

Basically every coonass that visits here stays with their friends in kingwood or Katy and makes broad generalization that they’ve seen Houston and everything it has to offer.

Did you know Houston has bigger economy that entire state of LA?

Saints fans are the worst people imaginable, I don’t want y’all to have a good time and move here. So please maintain your status quo shitty opinion of my city, more $$ and food for me.

New Orleans is pretty awesome if you're wealthy.

That's my take.
Give me Suites in the Dome and Tiger Stadium and a mansion on St Charles over ANYTHING Houston has to offer.
