How many here think Houston is a better place to live than Nola?

Houston is pure trash.
Floods more than Nola
Knock off version of Louisiana food
Sports teams are full of douchebags (James Harden)
All around just as trashy as Nola with a higher cost of living
Explain why one would prefer Houston to Nola?

Me
ETA: Because Houston took all the refugees despite most of them being garbage. And the frickers stayed in Houston because NOLA was oh so fricking awesome.

Because it is safer and offers much greater economic opportunities, while still providing urban amenities.
P.S. I have no connection to Houston. Just answering your question.

Taking the over on that. Easily doubled if someone mentions Nashville.

Probably can’t find quality construction like this in Houston.

I guess you can't argue with that one?

Steadily having to expand our Outer Loops for the 1200 new residents per day that move here.

Houston is LA's L.A.

Well with that detailed list of pros and cons I’ve convinced wifey we should definitely move back to Louisiana from Houston.

I used to spend a lot of time in Houston back in the early 2000’s for work. Even had an apartment there I would stay at 3-4 nights a week. I was doing dinners, drinks, entertaining, etc.
I would say Houston is fun but frick that city sucks to high hell and couldn’t wait to leave that place and get back to NOLA.

Weird. I always found it very affordable. Think I paid $1100 / month for a 4-bedroom in Old Metairie.
Maybe I wasn't as obsessed with not seeing Black people as you.

The cost of living is certainly not higher in Houston than in Nola if you aren’t trying to live within the inner loop.

I can’t stand Houston.
I hate the sports teams.
The traffic sucks.
I think the city is soulless to an extent.
It’s a concrete jungle.
It’s hot as frick.
With that said, I’d rather live in Houston. My odds of survival are higher.
