Anyone who does this is a complete imbecile.

A man seeks out a woman to bear his children, once they get married then the woman can turn into a psychotic bitch after he signed the dotted line. This situation is the guy finding out beforehand that she is nuts and wants to wear the pants before you get married, and you still go through with it….shame on you.

Also, did your wife take your last name or keep her maiden/hyphenated.
To date, she’s kept hers though she said she might eventually change it when we have kids.

We have a 7wk old son now, with my name, but I don’t think it’s in the works for her. Honestly, it’s her decision and I don’t really care whether she changes it or not. Doesn’t make us any less of a family.

ETA: she does use both names on her Instagram/Facebook, but that’s it

Wife (no pics) kept her maiden name because she is well known in her field and it would confuse too many folks.
I have no issue with it. Our son has my last name.

I also know a gay couple who hyphenated both their last names when they got hitched. One was Smith and one was Jones; both are now Smith-Jones or Jones-Smith (I can't remember which one is first).

It’s commonplace in Nordic cultures for a the couple to take the least common last name. I knew a half dozen or so when I was out there.

What I’ve seen a lot lately is the woman just keeping her maiden name. I didn’t even know one of my former classmates was married.

There is a guy in Arkansas who married his sister. Does that count?

None.

Because a man who does this forfeits his right to be called a man.

I would not marry any woman on the planet if I had to do this. I don’t care if the woman is a multimillionaire supermodel. If we’re in a relationship, I’m still the man and the leader.

I know two instances where the guy did. Their wives didn’t have brothers so they took the wife’s name to pass their family name on.

Not the choice I would’ve made but I don’t lose sleep over it.

Worked with a guy that basically conjoined names with his wife. Took the first syllable of hers and last of his. In his defense, his last name was previously a gay slur.

They usually fix that by having the younger son go by her name.
