Also at 7pm for the last 4 days you can hear people clapping/making noise etc for the health care workers
Just an assume place. New Yorkers are great people and have been so friendly since i moved here in 2015

Even that wouldn't convince the true ideologues. Heck, the president and his task force is now saying 100,000-200,000 could be a best case scenario and the president just said if there had been no social distancing it could have been well north of a million or more deaths.
I think that for some of the died in the wool people, there is literally no number that would make them realize it. It's kind of futile to try to argue with them.

Not at all. I'm a small business owner and being crushed by this. But I'm not sure how you put a price on a loved ones life? If you are as wealthy as a previous poster states you have good sense to make money. Capitalize on the current situation and needs. I just hired 2 laid off bartenders to powerwash houses and driveways. There is still money to be made while you sit at home. Good luck

This isn't the right question. It's a rhetorical straw man. Most rational humans acknowledge the risk posed by Covid. The better question is this: over the long term, is the risk posed by Covid greater then the risk posed by protracted economic decimation? It's a complex cost-benefit calculus that can't be answered with panic-stricken absolutes.

Doctors in charge are saying that 60-75% of people who get it have little to no symptoms are you counting this in your 4.8%?
There is no way anyone knows how many people are truly infected so your 4.8% is a lie!
I’m not saying it’s the flu or it isn’t dangerous because it is, but nobody really knows how dangerous.

Because I'm thinking of the country as a whole. Not a loved one's life or my narrow slice of the world.
I will be fine. But this is bigger than me, and there are millions of people out there who are going to suffer for a very long time because of all of this. Many, many times more than who will suffer from Covid.
But I guess if it saves one life right?

I'll be the first to admit that 100,000 people is not enough for me to want to kill our economy. The deaths that would likely result in the aftermath of the economic depression that would follow would likely eclipse that 100,000 several times over in the years to follow.

People have already made up their minds one way or the other.
