There are now 41k+ deaths, 30k of which have been in the last 12 days alone. That’s 2,500 deaths a day. This thing has not even come close to peaking yet, and a lot of these numbers are still playing catch up. The current worldwide fatality rate is at 4.8%. This isn’t just the common flu.

Please stay home, and help flatten the curve.

Spanish Flu killed the 2020 equivalent of 1.8 million. Just in the U.S.

ETA: sorry, the “point” I’m making is that the Spanish Flu didn’t reach the worse case scenarios I’ve heard (2 million deaths in the US) and we are light years ahead in medical knowledge.

This is America, we pick our side once an item breaks into the news and we fight to the death for that side, facts be damned.

4.8% of the people who get the virus, not 4.8% of worldwide population.

A lot, apparently. The OT seems to think oil field baws are just as knowledgable as doctors about this whole thing.

Fact: the fatality rate is not 4.8%

Fact: the deaths from the last two weeks are Mostly from people who contracted The virus prior to any Major shutdowns.

No I’m the one working from home, and haven’t left the house except for a trip to Rouses to buy food to make my lunch and dinner.

I’ll do whatever I’d like. It’s a free country.
