I was thinking about this with the extended holiday coming up. I figure I could make it about a year before I had to dip into retirement or run out of money without having a job (without selling any large assets). If I sold all my shite I could go multiple years I'm sure.

How long do you reckon you could go before you had to get another job?

You know at the big people table it’s considered poor form to speak of such things.

Not everyone is as well off as some of us are.

PTO with a paycheck? I could go a few weeks.

Unemployed? I put too much stock in being a provider and don't like feeling worthless. I would become depressed quickly so I would take just about ANY job within a week or two.

Money wise, probably around 8 months to a year or so.

Psyche wise, about 2 weeks.

Aren't you like 22 and live in an apartment? Your 2012 Accord isn't worth as much as you think.

I wouldn't take any job, but I have no idea what I'd do if I didn't have a job. A lot of time, and no money, sounds miserable

Unless you are a trust fund kid, you don't have any large assets in your early 20s more than likely.

I could retire tonight, but I don't want to. I enjoy working. I doubt that I'll ever quit working.

Two weeks? It would be a rough go before the unemployment checks started rolling in and even then it would be tough to survive.

If I could retire now, i would... but I can't, so I work

If I lost my job, I'd be looking for a new one within a month... take a few weeks off to sleep, fish, drink and play putt putt

I make more money than both of my parents. I financed my entire education on my own, and had like $500 in my checking account when I started working. The only thing my family has is land.
