I only worked 2 months this year. Had a hella good 2017 and a fat tax return in Feb. It's nice being able to just say frick it and loaf around and do what I want all the time.

It’s obvious that you’re reasonably intelligent and are probably pretty good at whatever you do. Hopefully you’ll have a long, successful career.

Thank you

Ughh, SAME. I have the next couple weeks off and already I don’t know what to do with myself. I can’t remember the last time I took anything that resembles an actual vacation.

I could not work for the rest of my life. I get a pension with healthcare insurance and my house is paid off.

That's like saying sorry you have to have sex every night.

One day you'll experience both.

A social prophet once penned this verse of a song that discusses the cycle we hope through. We've all been young and a little cocky, but age, circumstances, responsibility and tragedy mellow us all

quote:

Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory
Of lighted streets on quiet nights

It’s a mathematical question, right?

My family spends ~$5000/month including $1600 for daycare. We make $7200 combined after taxes and insurance.

I’m ~$4000 of that, so if I lost my teaching job, adjunct teaching job, and music gigs, we’d be $1800 in the hole per month.

Assuming we don’t adjust our budget, we’d have to draw from our $15000 savings account. We’d make it about 9 months before hitting the true “oh shite” moment.

At this point, I can't take nothing you say serious. You are pretty much full of shite. What is your job?
