Nice. Hopefully I'll be there in a couple of years. My salary should be on a good upward trajectory in the next 3 years or so

Not addressing your question however I’m 60 and decided to hang it up and retire. After about 18 months I was bored as frick and crawling out of my skin. Back at work now. I did minimize my lifestyle and got rid of a bunch of BS assets.
Working know because I want to not because I have to. Makes a HUGE difference in quality of life

I’ll say this. I switched careers two years ago. I decided to take two weeks off in between jobs because I hadn’t had time off in a while.

It was the longest two weeks of my life. Going from a very high stress busy job to nothing was insane. You can only play so much PlayStation before the walls start closing in.

I’ll have to keep myself busy once I get to retirement eventually.

It's a simple question, no need to project insecurities, just don't participate in the thread

Your overwhelming sense of insecurity suggests mid-late 20s

Yep. My sister was a CPA in Dallas starting out. She made decent money but he doesn't have "large assets" in his 20s making 80k or whatever. Kid probably has 2 years in the workforce under his belt

I don’t keep much of an emergency fund, maybe 3 months. But I guess with credit cards and just making minimum payments I could “make it” several years.

figure I could make it about a year before I had to dip into retirement or run out of money without having a job (without selling any large assets). If I sold all my shite I could go multiple years I'm sure.

So in other words if you actually owned a house, mortgage, paid taxes, insurance, a wife, 2 kids, tuition, 2 car notes, etc.....

You could last a few weeks? Maybe 1 month?

It's paid for now, I was using that as evidence that I'm not a trust fund kid. Read what I was responding to
