Recommendation for pool repairs in Covington area.
Posted by ICitall on 8/23/25 at 7:34 am
When my pump starts first thing in the morning, it primes and pumps fine for about 30 seconds, then loses prime. The pump still runs, but there is no water pumping through the system.
....not sure if that makes sense, but that's the best I can explain it.
Anyone have suggestions on a repair guy in the Covington area that could tackle this? Thanks for any help.

Barrel length - AR 10 .308
Posted by ICitall on 8/4/24 at 10:44 am
I research new purchases like a would a trip to the moon, which has led me to this point. I don't like it, but I can't stop.
I'm about to purchase a Daniel Defense AR-10 in .308 and I'm torn between a 16" barrel or an 18". It will be suppressed.
I've read that the 16" is not long enough to provide a complete powder burn for this cartridge, thus affecting it's performance. My question is - will the added length of the suppressor provide the additional barrel length to alleviate this, or not? (My first suppressor, so not very educated on how this works.) What would you choose?
Also, if I'm completely wrong here, please correct me.
This will be for deer and hogs. Shots 150 yds or less.

Gator Waders
I got a pair of these a few years ago and they have been great. Very comfortable and have held up fine.

Why would you exclude options, RSUs, etc.? That becomes a primary driver of compensation for folks at senior level positions (I would argue Dir+ but especially VP+).
My point was that options/RSU's, etc were not inclusive of the $300K. They are in addition. .....although not nearly as much so as that of senior level staff.

Kolpin Gun Boot and Mount
I've got this one and it works great. Keeps my rifle nice and clean and it's easy to attach and remove from the mount. I keep my bracket attached to the bed of my Polaris year round and it never really gets in the way.

Bay St. Louis fishing

Recently purchased a camp in BSL and am having a tough time finding fish. I'm no expert at salt water fishing, so I'm sure that has plenty to do with it, but I'm trying to learn. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this time of year? Places to go and how you're catching. I have a 22ft CC, so can get a decent ways out on the right day. I appreciate any and all advice.

Fire Extinguisher mounting on boat
Posted by ICitall on 2/16/23 at 8:18 am
For those of you who do, how are you mounting your extinguishers on your boat? I've got mine just thrown in my T-top compartment, but am tired of it bouncing around in there. Anyone have experience with the product linked below? ...or something similar? Fiberglass boat, btw.

re: Anyone here experienced Sako sticky stock?

Yes. I have the A7 with the POS stock and after about year 7, it was pretty bad. Almost like the stock began to melt. I contacted Baretta and they refused any help. I ended up replacing it with a Bell and Carlson stock that I like 10 times better. It's a great shooting gun (always has been), but now I don't have to peel any leaves and various other debris off the stock after I use it.

How do the windshields hold up to trailering? I've got a ranger that I trailer to and from the camp several times a year via interstate (75mph avg speed) and am worried it would rip the thing off. I'd like one that folds down, but not sure how it would hold up to the wind.
La CCP renewal question.
Posted by ICitall on 10/12/21 at 7:43 am
It's time for me to renew my ccp. I was arrested a couple of times in the college days (fighting - simple battery), but was able to get both charges dropped. It was an absolute pain in the arse to get the required documentation from the clerk's of court to send in with my original application. ...but I did, and it was approved. Unless I'm reading it incorrectly, the renewal application is asking for the same documentation again.
Does anyone know if the same court documents I've already submitted for my original application are required again for the renewal? I can't find the ones I got originally.
I know I can call later today, but figured I'd get quicker answers here. I appreciate the help.
