Because apparently my ol lady’s definition doesn’t align with mine that it stops being a nap past, at the MOST, two hours. It’s a ‘sleep’ at that point.

I used to argue with a friend that if you got in the bed it can no longer be considered a nap. A nap is reserved for couches, recliners, floors, park benches, etc.

This may be coincidental

90% of my friends are service industry.

I get it because I napped like that at one point when I was working weird hours, but I just can't handle missing out on so much of the day by laying in bed for hours anymore.

Anyone else power nap in about 6-7 minute increments.
Blast AC, lean truck seat back, set timer for 6 mins, wake when it goes off and hit repeat. Repeat 3-4 times

I am not one of these guys that can sleep until 11:00 am on weekends. I have to get up by 7 or 8 or I am screwed up for the following week. But, especially on Sunday, I zonk out during NFL games after lunch for like three or four hours.

If I do ever take a nap, I try not to frick it up.

Why not just take a regular uninterrupted nap for longer instead of waking up every few minutes?

My grandmother used to take a nap every day around 1 pm or so. I never understood it as a kid. But then I started getting up at 4 am for work and completely understood since she would get up early everyday to cook breakfast for my grandfather.

I love naps especially when you have a 2 year old who wakes up at the crack of dawn and can’t sit still for more than 5 seconds

I hated naps as a kid. Like so many other things, I now know how wrong my thinking was as a child

No issues with naps, but I sleep well at night, so rarely ever take a nap.
