Washington Monument does 24 hour advance tickets also, so you still have a shot at them. They sell out very quickly too though.

Several good options in this thread. We were there in June for 5 days.
One day we took the ferry cruise down to Mount Vernon, which was an enjoyable trip.
Definitely take one of the night monument tours.

Yes, I sell a few things on there each year. Online transactions with shipping only though. I haven't had to meet anyone in person.

One of my former employees works in finance in NYC now. He finished his MBA at TCU a couple years ago & took a job up there.
He's actually one of the "finance guys" quoted in that recent WSJ article & absolutely loves it in NYC. ...
