There is a subcontractor, whom I will have to deal with for the next 2 years, as I'm a Project Manager building a new apartment community in Port Saint Lucie Florida, and he smells like sweat...really bad sweat.

When he comes in the construction trailer, I have to Febreze the place when he leaves. He smells that bad.

I don't know the guy, but I'm going to be around him for the next two years. I have sub meetings in the office, he comes in the office at least 4 times every day, and sooner or later he'll be inside enclosed apartments with no air conditioning.

He's basically a stranger. If it were someone I knew, I'd make some suggestions, but I just met this guy.

Do I just keep copious amounts of Lysol around??

Try doing it while he's still in there.

Give him some deodorant and tell him to use it

Walk around with your zipper down all the time.

If/when he points it out, you know you have achieved a level of relationship that he is comfortable suggesting to you to zip it.

That's your moment.

Until then, lysol.

I just avoid left wingers because if it's not their bodies it's their minds emitting foul odors. They're better avoided

Lock your door and tell him you can only talk by phone/email.

Make comments like “you smell that?” “It smells like shite in here.” When he’s in the room

Also, you work in construction and are surprised that this dude smells?

Have Amazon deliver a box of deodorant, soap, detergent, cologne, etc and don’t put a sender on it.

He will know what’s up

Does he do a good job? If so, be grateful you have a guy that is willing to bust arse outdoors in summer in Florida and thank god and whoever paid for your college education that it doesn’t have to be you.

I use the description wet dog. It’s a bad smell without being super offensive and it’s believable that you don’t know where it’s coming from.

Resolved a couple situations that way.

I deal with people that work in the field all day and truck drivers that come in my office to get paperwork signed all day. There are a few that just wreak all the time. It doesn't matter if it is first thing in the morning, they smell. I just spray my office when they walk out.

Maybe it's something he wears. Hard hat, hat, safety vest or something. If you can pinpoint it, steal it and throw it away

The dude's out there working and sweating all day in the Florida sun, you're in an air-conditioned office but have the gall to complain about perspiration.

Certain people have these certain kinds of stank.

Not so noticeable one on one but get a large group of similar smelling people together, especially in a closed environment without a lot of ventilation…that’s a special sort of stank

Dude has the audacity to sweat in Florida, during July 100% chance they're running a train on your old lady at the Christmas party. Sorry in advance.

A girl I used to work with smelled like straight up shite all the time. She had some major depression issues so we were always afraid to say something but it was terrible. I really believe she would shite and just not wipe herself after or something. She was the most foul, disgusting human being I’ve ever met in my life.

Ahhhh the old "I'm a Project Manager" diatribe. Maybe if you go out and sweat a little with the commoners you'll start to smell like them, and it won't be an issue.
