Should be prosecuted ruthlessly.

We have a lift van for my son that has a handicapped plate. That’s the only one of our cars that I will park in a handicapped spot, because I need to have passenger side lift space getting in and out.
If I go somewhere with him and muscle him in and out of the front passenger seat and use one of the folding wheelchairs, I never park in a handicapped spot. I leave them for anyone else who needs lift or ramp clearance.
I don’t get worked up about it either way and certainly don’t demand handicapped parking wherever we go. To me, pushing a wheelchair is no different than walking, and I can walk across a parking lot.

I cannot believe how many folks are sticking up for illegal handicap parkers.
We are living in narcissistic times.
These folks are PoC's but they think it is OK. I am more than happy to turn them in to my old Po Po pals that have not died or retired yet.

With my chronic GI issues and 4/5 of my lumbar spine fractured I don’t have a handicap tag. I also never park in the handicap parking either.
If I can make it work there’s no excuse for anyone else to illegally park. Get the tags or stay home.

Am I crazy? Is this not rotten to the core?
I grew up with a sister who was mentally and physically handicapped. My mom never got a handicapped tag, even when my sister was an adult because she felt that there may be people who were alone and needed those spaces. This was initially way back when you had only a few of those spots available. So my mom would park, usually far enough away to get a spot next to an empty spot, get my sister's wheelchair out of her trunk, and then get my sister out of the car and into her chair.
So yeah, it is rotten to the core. You can argue if there are too many of those spots now but if you can't get a tag now, you should not park there.

We have lost our way as a society. Those folks are just an indication of that.

Illegal handicap parkers are the same losers that leave the shopping cart in the parking spot.
They should lose their driving privileges for a month when caught. Would put an immediate stop to it

1. I don’t agree with government mandated handicapped parking spots. It puts a burden on businesses and wastes valuable real estate.
2. Even if I did, there are way too many of them. 90 percent are usually empty.
3. The process to get a handicap tag is a joke also. Anyone can get one, so the idea that a tag holder is valid is a wrong assumption.
4. Police shouldn’t be able to issue tickets on private property.
5. Therefore I don’t give a shite who parks in them (I don’t, but that’s a personal choice)

It pisses me off to see able bodied individuals parking in a handicap zone. One would have to love to irony if God gave them a reason to need to park there.

It ought to be legal to knee cap someone parked in handicap spot. Give them a legit reason to be parked there.
But hey... I'm a dreamer.

I totally confronted people over this until a person with someone I confronted was actually handicapped.
I chilled my approach since then LOL

quote:What I hate is handicapped people parking a regular spot.
if you park in a handicap spot and are not handicapped you are a lazy pos in my opinion
if you get a handicap tag and you're not handicapped, you are a premeditated lazy pos
if you prescribe a handicap tag to someone not handicapped you are a POS in caps
You are essentially taking two parking spots.
Now I'm gonna cut the hydraulics on your lift.

If there are no other spots open and there are multiple handicaps open I will park there. I only do it if I’m running into store for less that five minutes.

This is a big part of the reason I think it is so immoral to steal those spots. Beyond breaking the law, which is very clear and easy to follow (there are plenty of spots most places).
There are folks that really need those spots and for any number of reasons are not able to move around as well as myself. Some of those people are dear friends or their kids or parents. My good friend's mom who had MS and is in a wheelchair. My other good friends's son who has cystic fibrosis and can't hardly breathe some days. It's a real kick in the dick to take their spots because you want to get into walmart faster.
This reeks of entitlement, selfishness, and a complete inability to be thankful for having reasonably full mobility.

If every spot is taken but the handicap spot at a convenient store, I'm taking it instead of blocking a pump.

I park as far away from the front of a building as I possibly can to avoid door dings and morons walking around me when I try to exit the premises.
That said, my mother has a handicap hanger and it is ultimately clutch when trying to park in the Keys.
