Up to 10-12, I go self checkout.

It's way more efficient and convenient.

Most places now have 1-2 attendants supervising the self checkout area, so any issues or ID checks for alcohol don't take very long at all.

Always use self check out if possible. I don't want to talk to the checker about my day. The person in front of me is sitting there talking to the checker and I'm thinking...STFU and check out so it can be my turn.

I'm part of the "old folk" (62) and I totally agree with this. This is why I use self checkouts.

I always say thank you to the robot, hoping that when they take over I get to live in a zoo.

depends on how many items i have.

if 10+ i’m going to regular check out, if not self checkout. And i could GAF about it taking away jobs.

I like them because I live alone and shop for myself, I’m in and out

Those motherfrickers that pull up to the self checkout with two baskets to feed a family of 5 can eat it

I treat it more like an express lane

Isn't Walmart redirecting away from self checkout due to massive theft?

The people looking up half the priduce aisle typing in shite can all get lost.

I'm such a weirdo that I stack all my big items(animal food, cases of drinks) where the barcode is viewable so I'm not sitting there at the checkout looking like the people I hate

The "new and improved" walmarts have more which is good. The long arse shelves you have to walk around to find the one opening kinda suck. The new carts and the ability for them to erase shite from their phones is also better. My question is - Has anyone gotten busted doing the ol' buy 1 get 1 free on self-checkout?

Great if you live on Fritos and beer

You still have to wait for an associate to verify your age on the ID. You just can't scan it like a lottery machine.

I use a self checkout as often as possible. I like scan and go apps when shopping as well. According to Biden, those affected by self checkout technology can go learn to code, work in the solar energy fields, or sit at home siphoning the government.

Big fan... unless I have a reslly full cart or some old a-hole tries to use one and backs things up.

If you're over 60, just wait for the regular checkout please

Self checkout is a God send for me

No stupid checkout conversations for starters like

would you like to donate to blah, how's your day, would you like to purchase more shite you don't need for an additional 3.75% off?

I can scan faster than most of their cashiers and can bag things the way I want things bagged

The only inconvenience to me is usually waiting for one to open up because there is always those people in front of you that don't know if they want to pay with card, cash, exact change, write a check to the kiosk just to find out the kiosk doesn't accept checks

Or they have no idea how to find a barcode

Publix by my house installed them and no one is monitoring the alcohol purchases Bought a case of beer before the Georgia Tech game last week and it told me to wait for an associate to ID me, and then cleared itself away without anyone coming over or even looking my way. Would have loved to have had that in HS.

It didn’t clear itself. The eye in the sky saw you were clearly of age and pushed a button.

I don't buy a cart full of stuff and I go through self-check out because I don't want people to hear me whine about paying 4 times more for the same pre-WuFlu item.
