How do we explain Love?

Love is an incredible thing. Absolutely fascinating. But as much as one might try to explain it scientifically, or evolutionarily, those explanations fall short.
How do young kids in JrHi or HighSch, living w/in miles of each other, form attractions that will last the rest of their lives?
Yet, others never find that sort of attraction ... ever?
