Out and about say Tom Brady. Is he going to be accosted for pictures or Drew Brees for instance. Surely people let him be.

few years ago I sat next to Pedro Pascal for over an hour at Carousel Bar and not a single person walked up to him or chatted with him (i said hey and we chatted about getting his head squished in on game of thrones for a few mins). he was meeting Sarah Paulson and then she arrived and still no one ever approached them

my uncle says Lawrence Fishburn would just sit outside on his front porch in the quarter at all the time. he said he hasn’t seen him in awhile though so not sure if he still lives there

NOLA is the type of place you can blend in and keep a low profile IMO, people aren’t really looking for celebrities

Rules, bruh. You're not allowed to start topics until 2,000 posts.

Pics of wife will qualify as equivalent to 1,000 posts.

I’m rarely recognized or asked for autographs in NOLA and I finished 5th in the NFL pick em contest.

However, I am mobbed every time I go to Dry Prong.

Most people give a quick hey or say I see ya. Of course this weekend will probably be different. For the most part, we just let people be.

I let them be. I don't really care enough to bother them.

Unless it's tourists, I think it's much more common for people in all big cities to just let celebrities be.

When some family visits me in NY, they always comment on stuff like Paul Rudd or Spike Lee just walking in and getting a coffee with no one saying anything to them.

used to be celebrity types loved down here because no one really bothered them. Other than the hello, as they passed no one cared. Not sure if that is still the case.

In the peak of Drew Brees’ career he would routinely be with his wife and kids at the park right by Audubon Place and at sporting events for his kids. The few times I saw them, people mostly just said what’s up, Drew.

Oddly enough supposedly the celebrities like Shreveport for that reason. It’s far from the glitz of LA but they weren’t harassed by paparazzi. Supposedly they liked their privacy.

But their aren’t many celebs coming to Shreveport anymore (this was like circa 2006).

Heck of a guitar player, from what I have read. Doubt many folks would recognize him, though.

No care unless they use perceived notoriety to be a dick.

I don’t engage them bc they’re looking to have a good time. I’ve had drinks with Danny MCBride and numerous actors at lafittes early in the am.

My favorite celebrity story was at the Columns. Was drinking with Justin Vincent after the national championship. Sean Penn was at the table next to us. Penn refused to sign some autographs to a couple fans. He asked JV for one bc he was on the cover of SI that week. I leaned in and politely said “nah.”

Nola people don’t give a shite about “celebrities.” We’re from Nola. We’re built different.

The house next to our old house was used for the A list celebs to stay in while filming. We’ve had Oscar/Grammy winners in our kitchen sharing White Russians from a Fat Tuesday plastic jug.

Everyone forgets they are regular people wanting to do regular things. Treat them as such and they will befriend like a normal person.

So, locals treat them like normal people because we don’t give a shite about who you are or what you do. If you want to share a drink and meal, door is always open.

This has been my experience. It’s the way we were raised.

Jesus first. Family second. Friends and bartenders third.
