My father played on the 58 team at LSU. My mom when she was a freshman got together with her sorority sisters and looked at the LSU roster. Each picked a guy. My mom picked my dad. So she got his schedule and showed up at every one of his classes as they let out She basically stalked him. He was a shy guy also. She ended up closing the deal and then my sister brother and me followed ! After a NC tho ! They got married while in college and lived in the first “married” dorms that came out then

I think they were both living at the same boarding house and got together there. Both were from out of town and starting their careers in BTR.

My dad and my mom were crashing the same wedding reception, but didn’t know each other. They shared a dance and could tell there was a connection, but by then someone in the wedding party realized they didn’t belong and asked them to leave. My mom was apparently embarrassed about it and left quickly with her friend. My dad figured he missed his chance…until he saw her later that night at a separate wedding reception they both crashed.

Dad came home (to Morgan City) on leave from the Navy and while he was on leave my mom was babysitting his younger brother.
Dang, a third Morgan City connection. My father (Morgan City) met my mother (Berwick) at a high school dance in Morgan City. Married 74 years until my father’s death.

My mom was a widow with 3 small children; her first husband died in a car accident about 6 years after they were married. My dad's cousin was married to my mom's late husband's cousin. They introduced them. Honestly, they were perfectly matched. Unfortunately, my dad also died in a car accident about 11 years after they were married. I was 9 years old; my little sister was 5.

My parents met at age 14 and 15.
My dad's mother was friends with Irene's mother from their Mid City NO neighborhood. Dad and Irene were friends, but never dated per se.
So my dad was asked to escort Irene to a party. My mother and Irene were friends at Sacred Heart Academy NO and was at that party.
So, there was a party game (for lack of a better term) where the girls threw a shoe in a pile and the boys had to pick a shoe and dance with the girl who owned the shoe.
To make a long story shorter, my dad peeked. Yes, he cheated! He picked my mom's shoe and they were together from 1944 to 2020.
