Prohibition era speak easy

It was a blind date

Father would not let the date happen without the elder daughter having the younger daughter tag along

Two best friends double dated two sisters

All wound up married till death did them part

Did your dad have a pickup truck?

Was he drunk?

Did your mom just get out of prison?

Are you guys from Alabama?

Were your parents brother and sister?

This has the real feeling of a perfect country song?

They met in high school and neither of them ever dated anybody else. My dad always remembered what my mother was wearing the first time he saw her.

My father was a First Lieutenant B26B flight instructor in WWII and my mother was a Second Lieutenant Army nurse. They met in her hospital. Their wedding picture was in uniform.

My dad worked with her brother in law at an auto repair shop. Mom was still in high school, dad was 5 years older, had done two years in the Army at Uncle Sam's insistence (drafted during Korea and sent to Germany).

My grandmother wouldn't let them go out on dates at first so dad would come out, mom's sister and brother in law would come over and the four of them would play Monopoly.

Mom graduated in the spring, Dad proposed on her 18th birthday that August and they were married in March. I came along 19 years and 10 months later.
