I think my dad met my mom at a men’s clothing store in Morgan City she was working at.

At a poker game. Their families were friends already. My folks are actually distant cousins twice removed by marriage.

Father is from Mamou and mother from Basile. They met at a dance in Mamou. Still living and together after 72 years.

They met in high school and neither of them ever dated anybody else. My dad always remembered what my mother was wearing the first time he saw her. They were married 64 years. She died two years ago. He died last May.

No idea, but I think they grew up in the same area. He was a good bit older.

Dad is from New Orleans and mom is from Claiborne parish. Dad worked a few years for New Orleans Fire and mom was down there visiting a friend. He met her in store while on shift and that’s all she wrote. Within a few months she moved down. She’s like 6 years younger than my dad and they are complete opposites

A defunct laundrymat off Goodwood, I think. Mom was pretty back then (she is dead now). I was on her hip. The Dad who raised me and
met her that day changed my life for the better.

Dad came home (to Morgan City) on leave from the Navy and while he was on leave my mom was babysitting his younger brother.

When my dad returned from the service his aunt told him I have someone I’d like you to meet and they married and lived together for 55 years.

My dad drove my mom’s car while, I think, taking one of her friends to a Greek social event and hit a guardrail, blowing out a tire.
