F. King wanted holistic admissions like some of the Ivy schools did. The problem is the Ivy's pool of applicants already have high test scores and are much better prepared for college than LSU applicants. Prior to that, LSU applicants needed test scores for admissions, but by lowering the bar you can attract more and lower quality students all the while benefiting from the federal student loan money that flows in with those students.

Why would LSU not be in the state of Louisiana?

Don’t forget leaving Charity Hospital to rot in the heart of New Orleans for 20 fricking years after Katrina. An entire 10 block area of downtown New Orleans functionally held hostage by LSU neglect.

Imagine any other flag ship university owning the biggest piece or blight in a state’s premier city for 20 years. LSU is about to pay more money to two fired football coaches than it would cost to clear the property and allow for a full scale redevelopment.

LSU is a sad, pathetic operation.

spent the night in Tuscaloosa earlier this week and drove all through/around the campus. The difference in demographics between the LSU and bama campus environments is startling

I have a kid at Baylor and he is absolutely against foreign students at this point.

I have never given him a reason to feel that way but he has developed it on his own.

This strategic plan objective is the epitome of why LSU is in the state it’s in. And, it was submitted by Matt Lee, interim president.

Multiple Rant posters' moms are in that first pic. I just know it.

I don’t think that’s an accurate representation at all

Two words,

Bel Edwards.

Some of it falls on Jindal too, and I don't expect Landry to fix it either.

I really should have kept pursuing law in my younger years. I just couldn't see the forest through the trees, but I really missed some opportunities.
