LAs next State motto

aspire to be Alabama

It's a frickin' shame but it's true. Over in alabama, they're aspiring to be Georgia and South Carolina and as each year passes, they get further from Mississippi and Louisiana and closer to them.

So that’s my thing about Louisiana. Yeah it ranks at the bottom in most categories that people around the country care about but it can’t be beat as far as people go

What the frick is so goddamn "special" about the people of Louisiana that isn't special about the same sorta fat redneck fricks over in Mississippi or the hillbillies of Tennessee?

quote:

I fricking love the different little cultures as you drive down I-10. All the accents, the food, and the I don’t give a frick we are having a good time attitude. I can’t wait to be back one day.

"Accents"? Are you fricking shitting me? So you can't wait to get back to da parish or listen to those yatty frickin' women in metairie? Christ almighty, the shite we desperately cling to so we can feel better about this third world fricking state we live in.

And the food? I can get a shrimp po boy and frickin' beans and rice pretty much anywhere in the south. But you know what I can't get in Louisiana? Something as simple as an 1-10 that isn't an eye sore. These people here "that can't be beat". Well they're the same people that throw garbage out their windows and let shite fly out of the back of their F-250's.

You don't realize just how screwed up Louisiana is until you move out of the state.

There are pockets of AL that offer a quality of life that, while not the absolute best in the country, are at least top 20. The rest of the state where that does not apply gives us our terrible reputation, statistically and otherwise.

Sociocultural evolution is slow going. Alabama has work to do but they are doing it and actually making progress.

Here in Louisiana? Well we still believe crawfish boils, all this cajun bullshite, easy attitudes about drugs and alcohol, shrimp po-boys, beans and rice and no last call are all really good reasons to live here. No shite, we believe that.

We believe we're so unique that our uniqueness forgives everything wrong with this state and just being able to order a plate of beinets makes it all better.

Yep. I had a strong feeling that life was fricked up in Louisiana. Everyone around me seemed okay-ish, but there was something that just didn't sit right with me. So we decided to move. Everyone told us we were running from problems. And maybe in some ways we were, but it's a lot easier to deal with problems when you live in a place that isn't constantly putting itself down.

I love Louisiana. It's my home. But it's not a normal place.

Not really. There's a serious obesity problem with women here (men too for that matter). You must not get out too much.

The drive through liquor store is genius, especially if you are too drunk to get out and walk in.
