Man that sucks. Really sucks that you think to get a video system on after shite like this happens. Same think happened to me. Damn thieves.
And...it is possible you can get your stuff back. My house was broken into several years back and I figured out who did it because they were damn kids and they talked about it. Got my TV back from the pawn shop and the kids got arrested. Ask around...if it is kids they'll talk.

Done this already and handed out a list with serial numbers, etc. Unlikely that they go that route. Pawn shops here have to jump through hoops and get ID from everyone bringing things in. It's more likely that they hit a large flea market or head to one in South Carolina or Atlanta. I went to one big one yesterday and went through the whole place. Decided that was going to be fruitless no matter how many I tried.

Don't think it was kids. They literally avoided everything a kid might think is valuable. Only went for TVs and the high end jewelry. Nothing else. Were at least nice enough not to leave a mess behind beyond the broken window and throwing the jewelry box on the floor in the bedroom. They were in and out efficiently. Didn't rummage drawers or anything. Only took what was openly accessible.

Did you give serial numbers of all stolen items to the police?
If you did they are supposed to register those serials into NCIC and anytime one of those items is sold at a pawn shop anywhere they’re supposed to get a hit
In regards to your list of “suspects” detectives can call in those guys and ask if they’re willing to give a statement but without reasonable suspicion they can’t detain them for any reason and without probable cause there is no way to get a warrant to see what cell towers their phones may have pinged on

Which is why a flea market or private sale is the more likely destination.

Yeah, I figured as much. I think they could question the guy I'm most interested in and pass it off as "we're looking at everyone who has been there recently", but no idea what they can figure from that. I have my suspicions for the reasons mentioned, but it's all circumstantial. I'm really curious to know if he's still working for them and if he was working on Tuesday. That would answer a lot of the curiosity I have.

Get a security system and put a sign out front indicating such. Just the sign is enough to deter thieves. Getting a dog wouldn't be a bad idea as well. And I don't mean some little shite stain of a dog. A real dog that barks and bites. Thieves don't like running into dogs and are likely to leave the house alone.

Trying to talk my wife into it. We have an American Bulldog, but due to shedding, hardwood floors, allergies and young children, he generally stays outdoors.

True. Gonna wait on this til I can take my wife and get her comfortable shooting it. For now, our S&W Governor revolver will have to do as the house gun. I plan to get a Walther PPS M2 as a carry weapon now, too. And a much bigger gun safe.

Damn. I always feel safe out yonder. I store my RV in Acworth near the lake. I saw some undesirables there yesterday, which surprised me.
My intown Atlanta (Druid Hills/VaHi/Decatur etc) NextDoor feed is pretty full of break-ins that seem like crackheads and kids. Sounds like you were cased better than the typical city junk.
My house would be very easy to break into. It's really a matter of time (16 years so far), but there are some mitigating factors (no jinx):
Cul de sac and no quick getaway route. Dogs: one who looks like a coyote and another like a pit. I advertise them in the yard and around the hood. They don't like "strangers" who come to the house. But would probably just lick.
I also have Montana tags on trucks which probably signal guns and crazy white unibomber shite.
I also don't have much to steal.

For the future, your video system is worth a lot. A neighbor got robbed and we picked it up on our video system.
I told my wife I feel like painting the cameras(4 of them) fluorescent orange so they would be easily seen. I have been told crooks look for them, and you can see half of mine from the street.
The guy who hit the house up the street drove by earlier into the day and looked right in the camera as he drove by our house.
Still he came back and did his job on my neighbor.

Just curious. How big are the TVs we're talking about here? Wall mounted or not? I've always wondered how thieves make off in broad daylight with 50"+ TVs. Not that they are heavy. But big and cumbersome.

99 of 100 pawn shops will not care if your stuff got stolen or help you in anyway. My house was broken into and we asked a pawn shop if a particular item had been pawned in last couple days and first response was if we had a warrant. Thieves suck. The police will be no help as well.

Back up into the driveway in a delivery type van. Non-active street on a work day, they have all the time in the world.
OP. Alarm, large dog, and an irregular schedule is the best thing to deter thieves

Pistols are great and all, but shotgun is the way to go. You can get a pump action home defense shotgun for $300. I'm looking at a Remington 870 for Christmas.

I'm not sure how your yard is set up, but I keep a trail camera that monitors my driveway. But on top of that always use your alarm system, deadbolt your small safe to studs in the wall, and never keep all of your valuables in one place.

Funny thing, we were probably close to replacing the biggest one which was only 42" or 46". It was an 8-year-old Panasonic plasma and even though it's flat, it was heavy as shite by today's standards. It weighs upwards of 65lbs. For comparison, the 55" LED replacement I'm looking at now is less than 30lbs. It was also wall mounted. So again, they knew what they were doing to get it off and loaded up as quickly as they did. They put a couple of dings into the wall, but not enough to indicate that they struggled with it very much. The other two were just sitting on media cabinets in the bedrooms and were smaller and lighter.

Yeah, matter of fact, I almost bought a Remington 870 tac 14, but decided not to because I know in a stressful situation, my wife would struggle to remember what to do. The Governor allows here to point and shoot .410 shells or .45 long colts, either of which will be fine at home defense distances.
