No. The Kaiser wasn't a bad guy like Hitler.

He was just like ever other Empire leader including the Brits and the Tsar. They were all 1st cousins.

I did not know this. I knew about Archduke Ferdinand and the trench warfare.

I didn’t know about Mexico and the u boats.

Once the Germans tried to get Mexico to attack us, the die was cast.

Incidentally, Mexico figured out the only way they could even fight us is if we armed them, so they said “thanks but no thanks.”

it was old Royas last stand and nationalism's rise.

Sides were more ideological for survival's sake; the fight wasn't finished in the first place.

Germany was barely hanging on in the European war, no way they would have been able to force project and assist Mexico in taking on the USA.

Notice there was also the IF the USA enters the war, we will help you take the SW. They just wanted to keep the USA out of Europe. Well, in the end we DID enter WW1 and they didn't do crap about Mexico.

Germany was made out to be the bad guy in WW1 but with all the treaties and everything, once it was set in motion they were reluctantly obligated to jump in. Nobody there thought WW1 would turn out to be what it developed into. Once they were neck deep in the muck there was no turning back.

The world probably would have been much better off if the USA stayed out and Germany "won" a stalemate. Much better off of Germany stayed out of that Austro-Hungarian mess all together and just didn't honor the defense alliance and hung Austria out to dry for going after Serbia. The war would have remained localized and probably defused rather quickly.

Coupled with a question of equal or larger magnitude...

If the Ottoman empire hasn't collapsed, wouldn't Israel, 9/11, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc be non existent?

Put that with the US not entering WW1 and you have a very different world today.

The presence of machine gun ammo and high explosive materials required for artillery shell production has been absolutely confirmed by marine dives and investigation of the Wreck of the Lusitania.

The British Govt eventually was unable to prevent this discovery.

I believe we declared war in late 1917 but didn’t get troops over there and in the fight until 1918. The U.S. defiantly broke the stalemate and broke an already depleted and increasingly demoralized Germany

It's buff not nerd.

The Kaiser was a tyrant plus aeroplanes were starting to take off. Why not fly around Europe and kill some Germans too

Actually, it was the Treaty of Versailles that created Hitler and it is significant that the US Senate never ratified it because they thought it was too harsh.

World War II is sometimes presented as a failure of the US to support the League of Nations, but I don't think the League would have been any more effective than the UN is now. They just wanted us to pay for it all, and provide the canon fodder.

No. It was a war for the banks. And not the last, of course.
