Didn’t we hop in way late ? Like we picked the Side we already thought had a great chance to win?

I often wonder how the world would look today had Germany won WW1
WW2 wouldnt have happened at least not the way it did
Nuclear technology and a lot of other tech probably pushed down the road 10-20 years

No. We got zero benefit from it, and American reinforcements tipped the scales in favor of a decisive Entente victory thereby leading to literally Hitler.

No. Not an interest of the US.

Yes it set the stage for the transfer of wealth from europe to the US that continued through ww2.

War is the #1 sign of failure of leadership and politics. Easy answer: no.

We definitely didn’t need to be apart of that.
But like we always do, we love making sure that “mean countries” get as much ‘Merican freedom as possible

The Zimmerman Telegram was a good argument for the US. Germany threatened to help Mexico recover Texas, Arizona and New Mexico if the US entered the war. Also sinking the Lusitania and German U-Boats threatening American shipping.

I mean, that was happening prior to 1917.

We sold to both sides. Drained Europe of a lot of wealth all without having to declare war until late.

Germany joined on the side of Austria-Hungary and the Turks
