Both Hillary and Romney were terrible campaigners but would have been extremely competent presidents. I didn’t vote for either FWIWI

Ehhh, the little incident that occurred in Benghazi was but a peek inside the shite show that would have been with Hilary as President.

Clinton we probably wouldn’t be in half the deficit mess we’re currently in. Clinton balanced the budget and we were rapidly on track to eliminating our national debt.

Clinton didn’t balance shite. Newt and Republican Congress balanced the budget. Bubba just got to sign it.

William Jennings Bryan is my favorite bridesmaid, never a bride. Democratic nominee 3 times. Lost each time. Give me silver or give me death.

Sure, but global warming never would have been invented.

Lifelong GOP so I admit I'm a bit biased.

2008: John McCain
1992: Ross Perot
1976: Anyone but Carter
1960: Richard Nixon
1948: Thomas Dewey

- McCain by a mile over the other 5. I don't think we're still in the middle east if he had 2 terms (also would have saved us from DJT)...if only he didn't try to get cute with his VP pick.
- Perot because he was the only candidate that cycle opposing NAFTA. Walmart around that time "Made in the USA", Walmart 8 years later "Made in China, fruits from Central America".
- Carter was horrible with foreign policy...his failings are still fricking us over today (turned Iran into a "to the death" enemy which then led to the US arming Saddam in a proxy war)
- I took the liberty of rearranging Nixon's term. I think he goes down as one of the best presidents of his era if Kennedy/Daley doesn't steal Chicago/ Illinois and thus doesn't have the paranoia that drove Watergate. The three biggest questions would be: Does he invade Cuba? (I think he would likely carry on the administration's CIA approach.) Without the invasion do we even have a CMC? Would his efforts with China have different results? The one difference is I don't believe we get into a war with Vietnam. (Again, would this change how Afghanistan was seen by the US/USSR, potentially not arming the damn people who attacked us.)
- Dewey doesn't fire MacArthur and the Korean War is over before the Chinese can muster enough force to go on the offensive. Like Iran since Carter, our country has been dealing with the fallout since Truman overreacted.

1924: John Davis/Robert La Follette
1912: Eugene Debs

Debs and La Follette would be on a Mount Dipshitmore with Sanders and whomever the next idiot that comes out of that movement. (I think AOC has fricked herself by attacking leadership and without her the squad are the chumps.) I've toured Debs house before and it's amazing how nice it is for a guy who hated wealthy people. La Follette is still revered in Wisconsin.

The next election will be great because it will put a GenXer in office. Even if he pulls a win out of his arse in November Biden is a one term president.

I think 2024 likely sees Harris vs either Rubio, Cruz, or Nikki Haley. (If Harris is Senile Joe's pick there's no way Pence stays on the ticket...enter Haley or perhaps Tim Scott. Pence will get killed by/with Harris' bitchy courtroom shite.)

President Nixon was a pretty good president who would be been well regarded in history had he not let his paranoia get to him.

Lulz. Nixon was a crooked piece of shite.

This is a guy that had his team manufacture the war on drugs as a means to delegitimize the political power of the counter culture movement and black population. His actions created what became the largest incarcerated population in the history of documented humanity and left us with a generation of morons that still believe in reefer madness.

And then watergate.
