Supposedly a teacher at my daughters elementary school was trying to get this going.
I questioned my daughter about it and she was clueless, so I guess it got nipped in the bud quickly.

How about an adult spends 17 minutes engaging these kids in meaningful conversation about gun control, the 2nd Amendment and what they think they are trying to accomplish? Participate in a little democracy and get them to understand that knowing protest in support of a thought out goal is American as apple pie. This viral shite here, encouraged by the Democratic Party, is just political theater.

The schools should be docked a days FedGov Education Funds too. The kids are NOT attending after all.
ETA: Dock the teachers pay too, they are not teaching classes if the students are out for protesting.
Only the participating schools though, not blanket "all" schools. If schools want funds for a day off, too damned bad. If they turn in attendance records tomorrow while not really holding classes, that's fraud and should be pursued in the court/legal system.

My Middle Daughter is planning on participating in this retarded bullshite. I have informed her with my best Red Forman impersonation what a dumb arse she is. I have also informed her that actions have consequences and that is she is disciplined at school, she will be disciplined at home as well. Loss of her truck and phone plus whatever else I might think up. Apparently she is still committed.
However brain dead this shite is , I will begrudgingly respect ( but will never admit it to her) her commitment to what she believes.

Yall act like these kids are all SJWs who want guns banned. Maybe they just dont want to get murdered in their own school like the kids from florida. There really has been nothing done at all to address this situation. Whether its gun control or other tactics. Being pissed about the government not doing anything in regards to school shootings should be a bi-partisan view.

Honestly, there’s not a lot schools can do that they already don’t. Lock all exterior doors but one leading to main office. Have armed SRO officers on campus. Drill to maximize safety and have as few casualties as possible.
Tell kids to not open doors, hope everyone that walks in morning or during lunch isn’t a bad guy.
