Given the definition of liberal, that’s not really surprising.

Liberal
1. willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas.

F**k him and others like him.

He's poisoned enough young minds over the years to not deserve an ounce of sympathy from me.

If you really believe that definition applies to modern day American liberals then you are stupid beyond comprehension.

I think the issue is whether modern “liberals” and “conservatives” are actually still liberal and conservative. I’m not sure either have a particularly good claim to those terms anymore, and we should probably start calling them something else.

Judge orders LSU to return law professor to classroom

quote:

A district judge Thursday ordered LSU to allow embattled LSU law professor Ken Levy to return to the classroom.

LSU removed Levy from his tenured teaching position last week, following comments Levy made to his students about Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry and President Donald Trump.

SU said Levy would be out of the classroom at least through the end of the semester.

Levy’s attorney, Jill Craft, filed suit earlier this week, asking for a restraining order and injunctive relief.

19th Judicial District Court Judge Don Johnson granted the temporary restraining order Thursday.

quote:

Johnson’s ruling orders the “immediate reinstatement of Petitioner (Levy) to his position and teaching responsibilities, prohibiting said defendant (LSU) from interfering with Petitioner’s employment, suspending Petitioner, or taking any tangible employment action against Petitioner on account of his expressions afforded protection under the Constitution of Louisiana and of the United States.”

The judge’s orders also says Levy is to be protected from “further harassing” or retaliation by LSU against him because of his “protected academic freedom and free speech.”

Landry should have to personally pay the legal fees on this (as boosie said earlier). What a joke.

The professor is a lawyer.
But so are the deans at LSU Law School. Heck, even the governor is a lawyer.
And of course, both sides of the case have lawyers. And the judge is lawyer.

The whole thing is lawyer vs lawyers, with lawyers on both sides, and lawyers deciding the case. There is literally no way this could have turned out where "lawyers were not siding with each other".

Take heart, it's not over yet by a long shot. However, I predict that whoever ultimately wins- will still be a lawyer or lawyers.

First Circuit sides with LSU in law professor case

quote:

The Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal sided with LSU Tuesday, agreeing that the university does not have to immediately return embattled LSU law professor Ken Levy to the classroom at this time.

The court said an evidentiary hearing must be held before deciding whether a temporary restraining order (TRO) previously issued by District Court Judge Don Johnson should be enforced. That hearing is scheduled for February 10, 2025.

Johnson issued the TRO last week, ordering LSU to return Levy to the classroom immediately. He was set to return to his class Tuesday afternoon.

As soon as I finished my military service I used my GI bill and entered college I had one particular college professor that always went on a tangent about how much the US sucks and how much he hated GOD. It didn't sit well with me I remember several heated discussions in class that remained civil. Every time before class started the girl next to me in class would be like no arguments today right. I told her I would try

It was a stupid psychology too. Got a B but hated that dude

I've taught 15 classes as an adjunct professor - business law and labor relations classes. Not one time was there ever a discussion of politics other than a few fact/law driven ones on whether union dues can be used for supporting politicians.

My Turkish Econ professor made some dumbshit snide comment about “see what happens to your US economy now” in my 10:30a class on 9/11/01.

College is a weird place.

A lawsuit accusing LSU of violating a law professor's right to free speech, academic freedom and due process can go forward, and Gov. Jeff Landry must hand over records related to the professor's suspension, an East Baton Rouge Parish district court judge said Monday. Ken Levy, a tenured LSU law professor, sued the university last month after he was suspended over what the university said were "student complaints of inappropriate statements."
quote:

But District Court Judge Tarvald Smith sided with Craft: "Professor Levy has every right, in this court’s opinion, to bring this action, because removing a tenured professor from his duties is a harm to that professor." Smith also sided with Craft on records she sought from Landry's office. She subpoened phone records, text messages, emails, recommendations and investigations between the governor and LSU President William Tate, law school Dean Alena Allen, LSU Board of Supervisors Chair Scott Ballard, members of the Board of Supervisors and Lindsay Madatic, director of employee relations for LSU human resources.
This lib fricker isn’t going away without a fight. Geaux Governor Jeff!
