lost most of our trees with Michael.

I came up 75, going to BR a few days after Michael. They had cut all of the trees off of the interstate but that first 60 miles must have had 2500 trees down within 60' 0f I-010. Two years later they were still cutting and loading.downed trees.

Good luck, all of you up there in harm's way.

Maybe for people that have moved down south and don’t have the decades of experience of dealing with this scenario.

I’m worried about the people inland as well with this one.. This is a fast moving storm.. it’s going to potentially effect a lot of people, not just those on the coast.. I expect those near the coast to know what to do

This one that hit Acapulco last year...how did they whiff so badly on it? This is what nightmares are made of.

Otis was a story of very warm waters and the slightest of track shifts.

I’m in Wakulla county and we now have a mandatory evacuation for the entire county. Looks to be where landfall is. Definitely concerned for us and eastern Franklin county.

With such an extensive wind field and tropical storm force winds forecast to extend way out from the center, I’m afraid surge will be pretty severe with Helene. The surge will have plenty of time to build up as the winds gradually increase.

Bay county checking in. Praying they’re overestimating the strength of this thing. Everybody here has had a puckered arse even with the track forecast well east.

I know we made Liz jokes, but I'm curious if she's preparing.

Good luck, and I hope everything works out for the best for you. I know it's a sinking feeling in your gut that you may not have the property/possessions you currently have when you return, but those are just things. (I've been there for Katrina but was fortunate enough to be on the west side and did not get surge as I'm sure many others in this forum have also been through).

10 to 20 miles one side or the other can make a huge difference in how much wind/surge you get at your location, and that cannot be predicted with any certainty before it happens.

Praying and hoping for the best for you and all of Florida.

From Lousiana to Orlando will to I'm sure.

Not sure what the road conditions will be like or fuel supply availability
