Yup. Sounds about right.

Wind is because of a spatial pressure gradient. Outside the storm 1015ish. Inside the storm, the lower the pressure, the greater your spacial gradient and the higher the winds.

Simply.

It is air pressure. Think of your tires.

The higher pressure the more stable the weather. The lower the pressure the more unstable the weather.

It is also why some buildings will “explode” due to the storm. The low pressure acts like a vacuum which is why in a well developed system an eye will form of clearing and venting the lower levels to an upper High pressure center that is venting the system in an anticyclonic pattern.

No one takes me seriously but each year at peak season, we should tow a few icebergs into the gulf of Mexico.

They have those electric coolers now. You don’t even need ice. Obviously on a larger scale.

That would have to be a Gulf record, right?

That's correct. Previous Gulf record was Rita at 895.

Gary Chouest is on this. Nothing like wasting a few federal dollars on a special project.

There is a company working on it. They lay out bubble curtains in front of the storm and push air bubbles from the bottom of the Gulf to the top to cool the water

That's because humans have little impact on the weather with vast expanses like this in particular regardless of what these climate alarmists want to scare you with.

The amount of ice needed to “cool” the gulf would be insurmountable. Every tug working the gulf would have to be towing a glacier that may not even make it to the gulf coast.

If it could be done then you are going to have the environmentalist on your arse about salinity levels in the gulf affecting shrimp and whales.

Any particular hard evidence?

Hot water, low to no shear, potentially really good to perfect outflow channel ahead of it as it approaches the coast, moist.

Even if you could tow an iceberg to the gulf without it melting, how are you gonna keep it hanging around frozen, and how much will it cool the water and for how long?
