Do they fly recon flights on them when they aren't even a tropical storm yet?

Not trying to be a smartass (as I usually am) just wondering is there is a threshold when the flights start.

Hot water, low to no shear, potentially really good to perfect outflow channel ahead of it as it approaches the coast, moist.

So pretty much Perfect Storm conditions?

18z GFS coming in much weaker than the 12z run. Still a problem, but it is at 966mb instead of 945mb through Thursday at 5pm.

First bit of good news in the intensity trend in a bit.

This thread is feeling sticky worthy. There’s less than 3 days for preparation.

I just wanna point out that if I were posting like Chad and some others in this thread, I’d already be banned for a year

Hits the Gulf a bit weaker on 18z.

Maybe a bit more shear this run.

Still deepens into landfall

We're all seasoned weather posters, we know where Rummy's line in the sand is. About a day or two out, this thread gets serious, mostly. At least for me it does

Those who created accounts prior to 2007 are given more latitude. You were so close.

This is a storm forecast thread, and I merely posed a question asking if a trip to Tennessee was still worth it. I'm not at all alluding to Helene still being a major weather event that far inland. Just asking for opinions.

My opinion is Nashville is a better idea than Tallahassee

I banned you once...ONCE...back in 2012...and you still treat me like I kick your dog daily.

I'm sorry you've had tough luck with others. Maybe you should be a kinder, gentler tgrbaitn08?

I have flown from NOLA to Denver and bought a condo today.

So havent had all my attention on this. Did recon get ingested into 12z or 18z?
