Same. I was eight years old at the time and slept right through it as it came into our part of Alabama as a category one hurricane. We lived about four-five hours away from the coast at the time but were out of school for like three days.

You say that but everyone and their sisters were screaming how historically wide of a wind field this would be and it simply isn't

Sorry you’re getting 30 mph winds instead of the forecasted 45 mph in your neck of the woods.

Probably been considering suicide so he chose this method. If he dies he goes out in a pretty cool way and of he lives he might become somewhat famous and make money off of it. Win win

I’ve decided if I have a terminal disease one day I’m gonna build this big kayak with stabilizing floats and row into a major hurricane in the gulf with a couple bottles of oxygen and diving mask. Live feed the whole thing. See how long I make it. That’s how I’ll go out

We vacation in Kauai every summer and I have seen the extent of mountain flooding. They got over 40” dumped in 24 hours in 2018 and they had mudslides and chunks of hills wash away entire roads and bridges on the north side. I was amazed when we went in 2019 and saw sides of hills and mountains just sheared off.

More people died from Camille in Virginia and West Virginia than at landfall at the mouth of the Mississippi and the subsequent one in Waveland. This is going to be similar.
From the standpoint of flat land dwellers, these type floods are comparable to an EF4+ regarding ferociousness.

These will be violent, violent floods that will catch people off guard. In flooding terms, it's a wedge tornado with you in the bullseye, and instead of getting underground, you'd better get up the slope. There's no such thing as ground too high.

And that doesn't even address the problem of soil movement and gravity, i.e., landslides and slope movement. Hard to drive to higher elevation when 3 acres of mountain are blocking the street and you've got water violently moving up from your six.

Well problem is our farm is in Thomasville just above Tally. I am over in Ponte Vedra Beach. A little 20 mile shift east may slide it through Tville, Gainesville, and PVB. At lease keep the eye wall from the farm.

I posted this earlier about the Waffle House Tracker.

It's looking eerily accurate.
