My parents have a place in PSJ. I was there in Mexico Beach a few days after Michael. That placed got flattened Holly Beach style.

I was gonna say that’s good, Lanier, but I saw your later post saying you had lost electricity already.

We are getting steady medium rain with about 10 mile an hour winds with 12 mph gust right now. I’m bringing my wife to the doctor and they say that my drive home will be 45 miles an hour wins.

Please someone explain how this hasn’t made landfall yet, it’s early Thursday morning, but by tomorrow afternoon it’s in Tennessee?

Hmmm...kinda seems like that's what you do.

I want to live in a world where there is no Delta, Tdsngumbo, Tigrbaitn or Chad in a hurricane thread. Somehow they have turned into worse posters than PJ.

This is not a storm where evacuation to the Grear Smokey Mountains is an option.
Campgrounds are closed, and roads are already flooded on the immediate west side of the mountains. Wednesday there was even an F-1 fornado that had a six mile long path.
Here's a local (Knoxville) TV station site with up to date info.

You're the only one that appreciated my post. It took a few minutes to hash out that acronym. Unfunny bastards in this thread.

. Don't think that's gonna do much good now with the prediction of a 20' storm surge.

Nope that’s approaching Katrina Waveland/bay St. Louis levels of surge. Will be nothing left but slabs for many if that comes to fruition.

It doesn't take much for that are to close roads though. It always seems like the Pigeon Forge area and surrounding land has road closures.

How populated is the area expected to be affected? Any idea if it’s homes or vacation homes? Sucks either way of course but I’d rather my vacation home than my home get hit.

I also find the vast majority of people who say they have always stayed and will stay have in fact never been near the eye wall of major hurricane. That’s a one and done human experience for most people.

I have a picture I took of Irma's eyewall passing over. Watching 100+ mph winds go calm, then reverse. Why would I leave? I am 8 miles from the beach, and my house is built like a fortress.

It takes hours to get get out of FL, as far South as we are. Add people evacuating, as a hurricane is chasing you, and no gas. I'd rather not be on I-75 during a storm.
