You want something on St. George island, apalachicola or carrabelle.

not a pinhole imo.. but the eye that is trying to form seems pretty small in comparison to how big the storm is.. but it should happen now that the dry air is mostly gone..
from there, EWRC or pinhole.. let’s hope for the former

It is nowhere near strong enough to form a pinhole eye.

A surge cam in St. Marks will have a story to tell.

Nice convective burst on the NE and looks like it's trying to roll that N and W band around it's self.
This kind of convection needs to sustain to close off this eye.

As your coming to 10 from BSL it’s on the overpass support.
I see nothing on google streetview
It has definitely been painted over to read Bay St Louis. I pass by it a few times a week. I'll try to remember to take a pic if I go that way tomorrow.

she is absolutely exploding right now.. hot towers everywhere
outflow looks great on all sides
hardly any pockets of dry air
LC up ahead..
if she can close it off, it’s go time

I'm still not sold she's closed off yet or is even super close.
It's going to happen at some point and I'm curious enough to watch for the next hour or two to see if this is the overnight burst that gets us there.
Plane up in the air now too. So I mean, we'll find out soon enough.

Watch this video about Wilma.
That was one of the cheesiest things I’ve watched in a while.

from 80 mph to OVER 100 mph
Wilma was something else tho..

Any of you who want to throw Mark Sudduth and crew at Hurricane Track on Patreon $10 can access all of the remote live cams they put out. There are usually 8-10 or so on a cool desktop that you can follow. They do good work.

Wilma is a great example of how hurricanes are thermodynamically favorable.
Perfect conditions over the deepest warmth in the basin. Goes from TS to strongest cane* on record in a little over a day.
*Atlantic basin. Patricia in the East Pacific would like a word on the "strongest" bit.
