Truth. My income has not been affected by health care costs and I'm very pleased with my total compensation.
Obviously I'm fortunate.

Isn't an emergency considered an immediate response needed?
What about the person with cancer or something that requires said diagnostics in the couple month time frame?
A lot of things can get worse in 60 days.
Life or limb has be threatened at that moment, if not it's not considered an emergency.

total compensation.
I am starting to get the feeling that some of tOT don't know what this means and how to determine it.

Are there any plans, that as incentive for being healthy, one could get $$$ back?

Now I know why you prefer the American system
I just don't think the UK or Canadian systems are as cool as they may seem on the surface.
The UK NHS has been having some real issues recently.
Canadians still pay a lot in taxes for public insurance and still have to pay out of pocket for many things like drugs.

only in america can a healthy 30 year old dude be proud having to pay 5500 for health insurance every year

Complacency about the insurance system is what's fricked us in the first place. So many people are brainwashed to think we're better off getting fricked in the arse.

What's your point?
That most of us are now paying way more than we used to, but some of us see it more directly than others.
If your employer is footing the majority of the bill, the impact on you of increases is hidden because you just see a modest increase in the portion that you can see. We're all getting raped, the people who pay for it by writing the full check themselves are noticing it more. Instead of "I only pay 60 dollars a month", they see "HOLY frick, THEY'RE BLEEDING US DRY".
It's very similar to why income taxes are withheld every check instead of having to pay all at once in April. The conversation goes REAL fricking quick from "Oooh, I got a $750 rebate!" to "WHY THE frick AM I PAYING $15,000 IN TAXES?!".
The point is that it's far easier for them to steal from you when they do it a little bit at a time or effectively hide it from you.

I don't pay that and I don't lose out on other compensation because of it either since I've already made in 9 months what my yearly compensation was agreed upon when I was hired.

Oh boy...
So you have two companies A & B. Here are there compensation packages offered to you.
A:
90k base w/ 10% EOY bonus (Max 20%)
5% Pension each pay period
4 Weeks PTO
Healthcare benefits Total cost (5500) out-of-pocket (840)
B:
100k Base
401k 3% match
2 Weeks PTO
Healthcare Benefits Total cost (8000) out-of-pocket (3500)
Which offer do you take?
Everything has a value.

You're completely missing my point. It's bullshite that healthcare should even need to be a part of compensation, and part of the reason why we're here in the first place.

No im not.
I am suggesting that health care shouldn't be free.
It's not free and someone has to pay for it.

But your income HAS been affected. They've just hidden it from you! Premiums have risen, but your take-home hasn't dropped. That extra money that's going to premiums is money that your employer could be giving to you, but instead is now giving to the insurance companies. You are being compensated more for your work, and they're taking their cut out before you ever see that extra compensation. They're leaving your net take-home pay roughly the same and have just cut you out of the loop and are betting you're either too stupid to realize they've done it or are too complacent to do anything about it.

You're acting like that money is taken from salary to pay insurance. Or that if insurance was free, the money would be added to salary.

Student loans suck!
I went through and looked at how much of my money is already allocated and per paycheck, I have, depending on how much overtime I get, $150 a week for food, laundry, alcohol, transportation, clothing, etc.
I can generally get by on 50-60 dollars during the week, but the weekends kill me.
